My team was too young. Which is the constant mistake I've made. You need some veterans. So when I was 3rd last in the league I made a few moves that seemed to turn it around.
These aren't in sequential order but all happened prior to the turn around over a couple weeks in late Oct/early Nov
- Domi, Max (C) NHL
- Holtz, Alexander (RW) ECHL
- 2021 2nd Round Draft Choice (min)
Team: Minnesota Wild
- Debrincat, Alex (RW) NHL
- Caufield, Cole (RW) ECHL
- 2021 3rd Round Draft Choice (chi)
Bad deal from an NHL performance POV as The Cat is killing it and Domi is awful. But for this year Domi was an addition of physicality and experience.
Team: New York Islanders
- Stastny, Paul (C) NHL
Team: Minnesota Wild
- Pinto, Shane (C) AHL
Team: Calgary Flames
- Shesterkin, Igor (G) AHL
- Hischier, Nico (C) NHL
- Perfetti, Cole (C) ECHL
- 2022 1st Round Draft Choice (pho)
Team: Minnesota Wild
- Pettersson, Elias (C) NHL
- Mysak, Jan (C) AHL
Team: Anaheim Mighty Ducks
- Nylander, William (C) NHL
- Kukan, Dean (D) AHL
Team: Minnesota Wild
- Wheeler, Blake (RW) NHL
- Frost, Morgan (C) AHL
- Mackey, Connor (D) AHL
Team: Minnesota Wild
- Jokiharju, Henri (D) NHL
Team: Buffalo Sabres
- Labanc, Kevin (RW) NHL
Team: Minnesota Wild
- 2021 2nd Round Draft Choice (bos)
Team: San Jose Sharks
- Johnson, Jack (D) NHL
I swear the last deal was the most important one. It seemed at the time that I overpaid for JMFJ but the team instantly started to play better when I got him. Sim chemistry is tricky but I would say
- More experience
- More physicality
- More depth
Giving up skill and youth to get that.
