As expected additional positive cases have been determined with the Vancouver Canucks. It’s also believed a variant has been identified in some of the cases.

The latest round of positive test results was received this evening.

Things are blowing up in the lower mainland right now. I live in Coquitlam and apparently the Tri-Cities has the highest number of cases they have ever had. It seems to be mostly younger people getting it and apparently from what I heard, the new variant may in fact be more deadly and you are twice as likely to end up in the ICU. I heard from someone that works in a hospital that they have at least one whole family in the ICU, two kids and parents.

I also live in Coquitlam and work for the post office in Coquitlam so I'm out on the frontline every day. Hopefully we will all be ok

Yikes.
To think they were only an hour away from playing the Flames. Makes you realize a losing record isn’t the worst thing that could have happened this year.

Holy crap that's terrible. Hope they and their families all pull through unscathed. Particularly worried about the Hamonics and their daughter.

Wow. This is scary. Before COVID my wife used to commute over an hour into Burnaby, but has been working from home ever since. Thank god we have no reason to leave Chilliwack.

What the heck is the NHL vaccination plan?
Pretty much all American states already are or have announced plans to open vaccines to all adults.
CDC: No tests or quarantines required for vaccinated people to fly around the country.

Man, that's a little scary to hear. There's been some very gifted athletes to get this and still not return to their respective sports. Here in the NHL, Marco Rossi won't be playing at all for the Wild this season. I hope these guys and their families get through this o.k.

No, that is not what I said. But living a little further away from more high-density population areas that see much higher levels of traffic helps me to feel a little less vulnerable. I would certainly be much more anxious about COVID than I already am if she was still commuting back and forth every day.

Yeah, it stands to reason that population density is a factor here and Chiliwack would be less prone to a large community outbreak. I don't think Vancouver Island is seeing this huge surge either.
I wish I still lived in Agassiz.

No I am saying that our governments and public health at all levels totally screwed the pooch on vaccines.
Even the lock down Democrats states have enough vaccines that any adult that wants one can get one.
It is not jumping the line when NHL players fully qualify for the vaccines.
They are pretty much equally essential or more essential to the masses that are getting vaccinated.

I don't think it's fair to say the current people in power screwed the pooch, but they certainly need to fix it fast. This is something that has been happening for the past 50 years. Canada used to be the world leader in vaccine production, but it was funded by the government and universities. Eventually, as it always does when profiting becomes the main focus, our vaccine production was sold off to companies and production moved out of the country. More government control is needed in this industry for sure and it shouldn't be about the bottom line. Try telling that to the companies that are trying to make money though.

If Trudeau and the various political henchmen had partnered with the US on operation warp speed Canada would have enough Vaccines.

How do you partner with an administration that openly tried to prevent American companies from providing masks to Canada that they were legally and contractually obligated to supply?
There was no partnership on the table and Trump even signed an America First executive order. The U.S. has a clear track record of focusing on themselves above all else.
