Update from Dickens:
Many of you heard our exciting news on the stream last night but here it is for the rest of you... DICKENS GOT A TWITCH PARTNERSHIP! Please join me tomorrow night for Poison Arrow at 9 PM (all 80s retro/ new wave) as we celebrate our successful 3 month long campaign!
This is the best way to support Dickens while we are closed. We have an extremely long road ahead of us with the venue. It's highly likely we won't be seeing any significant touring acts until next spring and while we expect to open before that time, we still need to stick together to ensure that we get there so we can all get back to the fun we love to have INSIDE Dickens when we're open again.
Thanks everybody!! xoxo

Hinshaw letter outlines return to audiences at events in Alberta starting in late May
https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/hinshaw-l...-may-1.5390031
Quote:
The letter dated April 9 and addressed to "stakeholders" is a "proposed outline of the potential timing for the return to audiences."
Acknowledging the economic challenges faced by live event operators during the COVID-19 pandemic, the letter says up to 15 per cent of capacity could be allowed at outdoor music, theatre and other performance events in late May, up to a maximum audience size of 100. That could be expanded to up to 50 per cent of capacity, up to a maximum of 500 people, in late June. Indoor audiences could also be allowed in June, up to 15 per cent of capacity up to a maximum of 100 people.
Capacity restrictions could be removed by late July, it reads.

Treefort (normally in March in Boise) is scheduled for September. I wonder if Sled Island might do something like this?

Holy crap, there are going to be more band members there than concert goers. Would love to see Built to Spill.

I think they are from Boise, and they play Treefort every year. Saw them once at Sled Island.

Ya, Doug Martsch is really Built to Spill, with a rotating cast of characters who play with him. He's awesome. Was going to see them when they were here but something got fubar'd.

Me too. They're such a great live band. I listen to their bootlegs more than their albums.

Tubby Dog is fun, but a small venue. Ironwood made the list, but why not Palomino, Broken City, Dickens, King Eddy?

Probably some eastern based list with little to no understanding of our local music scene?

Really tough choice between 92 and 96.
92 - Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden
96 - Metallica, Soundgarden, Ramones, Rancid, Rage
