Only one western team in the conference finals, and it's a recent expansion team. What a bs season this was.
It was the easiest path to the conference finals quite possibly in NHL history and the Flames completely blew it. I’m not even sure the Canadiens would’ve made the playoffs in their regular division/conference this season and yet here they are, in round 3.
Sadly, I thought the Flames were better than the Canadiens this season, just too little too late in the end I guess. Now the Flames will have to go through the Golden Knights in round 2 if they ever want to even sniff the third round.
I hope Vegas makes a mistake thinking like the Flames.......we thought it would be easier.....and the Habs dominate.
Should be an interesting series. I hoping neither team gets a major injury as 8 want one of these teams to be able to defeat the Bolts regardless of who wins.

I don't want to see Tampa win at all.
When did the Habs ever dominate the Flames?
Not once did I see that.
As for playoffs, Winnipeg no showed, and they pretty handily lost the possession matchup vs the Leafs. They just did what they had to - be opportunistic and get the saves. You can win that way when you have the goalie.
Flames kind of did that in the first month of the season.

I agree. Montreal was the one team I thought the Flames dominated. The only games the Habs took off of us were when their goalie stood on his head.
I can’t see the Habs having much of a chance in this series. But I said the same thing before their last two series. Guess that’s why you play the games.
Once Darryl was coach, I thought the Flames really dominated the Habs, even the games they lost.
Agreed.
And most of the season series was after he took over so it is pretty fresh.
They had a huge advantage in the advanved stats and eye test even in the one goal losses. At best Montreal played the Flames evenly for short stretches, otherwise Calgary suffocated. I wish they carried over that level of play against other teams. I really think they were their most confident, for whatever reason, vs the Habs.
Markstrom even pulled a Carey Price in their building early in the season.

Yep, that’s what I saw too. Flames just couldn’t put enough pucks past Price/Allen. Too many posts or crossbars or blown opportunities. Only one line also could be counted on to provide meaningful production. We certainly looked like the better equipped team. Although I think the Canadiens’ have found some serious chemistry on their 4th line and the addition of Caufield has helped them tremendously.
Flames also dominated the Canucks IMO. 3 wins in garbage time, TBF, but even the other ones, aside from the stinker where Markstrom got hurt, they were the better team IMO.
Gonna be 110 today and 114 Wednesday in Vegas. By far the hottest NHL games in league history. Ice surface should hold up fine because they built for it but with full crowds something to watch.
