That said, I’m not overly bitter we lost him. We got two really good pieces in that trade. If anyone should be miffed about it it’s Carolina. As hard as he screwed us he screwed them twice as hard.

Fox as a person clearly sucks but blame the NHL and their Mickey Mouse rules that let drafted players choose to play wherever they want once most them are NHL ready.
Why bother with the draft?

From a players perspective: so you can maximize your earnings after your entry level deal by having 3-4 additional years in the NHL before retirement.
Or you can go to school instead of playing hockey and not doing homework at 18/19…..
