My wifes instructions are to get rid of the body the cheapest way possible, I assume donation would be the best route. Then let my family host a wake at one of their houses.

Getting together with and enjoying your family is important, ritualistically honoring a dead body is a little too christian for me.

It’s weird you say too Christian. Doing something with the dead body has been human tradition in every culture. It’s likely tradition born around sanitation to avoid disease from dead bodies.
