Flames Post gameday News

"They already expressed how they felt about their play," said Keenan of his star players. "They're proud individuals. We need them to come back now and respond for our next game.
Herald piece
"We wish we were doing that the whole game -- had that hunger and desperation," said Iginla. "But we didnít and they won the game. Any time you donít win -- and we were rolling pretty good -- itís tough to swallow."
Chicago Tribune
"It's really tough any time you let up a short-handed goal," said Versteeg, who picked up the puck after the Flames' Dion Phaneuf couldn't corral it, skated in on Kiprusoff and slid it between the goalie's pads.
"It was a fortunate bounce. It kind of hopped over Phaneuf's stick, and I really tried to hop on it and I guess I got lucky when I shot it.
"I'd like to tell you that when [Kiprusoff] moved his stick I slid it five-hole, but it didn't happen like that. I just tried to put it on net and see what happened."
Allstar game discussed in the Herald
"I don't know . . . it's kind of a weird thing that they would have all of them," said Craig Conroy. "It is surprising. Jarome is having a great year. And you have (Miikka Kiprusoff) and Dion, but especially Jarome. I'm surprised. It's tough when cities are voting."
"Fans have their ideas about who is playing well and who is not. You accept it and acknowledge it," said Keenan.
"Now the rest of the team will be rounded out by hockey people. We'll see where it goes from there."
Canuck insulter and proud of it.

That's Conroy's way of showing anger. "It's tough." So diplomatic there, Connie!

I think the boys will definitely rebound and we'll see a full 60-minute effort tomorrow against the Sharks. If they don't, they're toast. Flames have been playing some great hockey lately, but in my opinion they're not quite an elite team yet until they prove they can beat either San Jose, Detroit, or Chicago. We need a big win tomorrow.
