I would include Neal on the list of useless bums that didn’t work on that line, yes.

Nolan Patrick is the equivalent of Sam Bennett, but with health problems and without the playoff success. Stay very far away from.

Bennett for Patrick makes some sense from a Flames perspective. But it would be nothing more than the classic reclamation-project for reclamation-project/change-of-scenery trade.

Did Patrick’s migraine problems go away? I was under the impression those made being in Calgary with chinooks etc a non starter.

Who gives a flying #### how old he is? He is not an NHL caliber player at this point and there is nothing you can do with him. He's the perfect player to go on European vacation and try and prove he can play at any professional level with any success. If he can do that, then he might garner some attraction. Right now, he's a waste of a slot on the roster.

Patrick has way more upside left to look at than Bennett. Injury issues don't seem to be at play this year, just a crummy team pulling him down. I think he's worth the shot.

Every competent GM I would guess.
Age is relevant.

You are arguing with a guy who thinks Sean Monahan is on the same value and talent level as Jack Eichel. Why waste your time?

Patrick is worth a shot. Everyone has their opinion, some louder than others , mine is that Patrick's a lock in for a 2nd line role after this come back season.

I don't think Bennett has a lot of trade value in this market, and dimes to donuts he won't be qualified or entertain signing a contract outside of a qualifying offer, so I would definitely trade him for Patrick. My expectations wouldn't be super high, but at this point, there isn't much to lose.

I'm with New Era on this one. If you could get by just on talent, then Nolan Patrick would already be a superstar. Fact is, he's damaged goods-and I can't imagine that bringing him to the migraine capital of the world would be good for him.

A crummy team pulling him down? How about Patrick being a crummy player pulling the team team down? Seven points in 38 games and an incredible -18. The next closest forward is at -10. Upside only matters if you show the capacity to achieve that potential. Patrick has been a disaster in Philadelphia and afforded every opportunity to be successful. He's just done nothing with it.
Unless the cost was nothing (Sam Bennett) I would not go near him. He shows nothing that indicates he's got top six potential.

Not when a guy is coming off of missing a year of professional hockey and has come back to completely #### the bed. There is a reason why the Flyers are "shopping him hard" and no one is biting. People that watch hockey can see what Patrick brings to the table. He is not the sum of his parts, and then comes with a time bomb of a neurological condition that could sideline him for an undisclosed amount of time. Competent GMs will be looking at him and running in the other direction.

Trade Ryan at the deadline, trade Monahan for the best top prospect/draft pick package in the offseason, and buy Patrick low. Only have interest in Patrick if it’s super cheap.
Just roll with Lindholm - Backlund - Patrick - 4th C (Gawdin?) during the ‘22 season while we try and figure ourselves out. Sutter could probably do something good with Patrick. Throw money at Couturier or Zibanejad in the ‘22 offseason.

So you agree exactly with what I originally said, that we should offer Sam Bennett for him but shouldn't pay any futures?
Did you read or just get angry that we were suggesting trading for him? Jeesh.
