There have been five coaching changes since the Detroit Red Wings last won a game.
Toronto: Keefe in, Babcock out
Calgary: Ward in, Peters out
New Jersey: Nasreddine in, Hynes out
Dallas: Bowness in, Montgomery out
San Jose: ??? in, DeBoer out

He's had a really strong record the last 4 seasons (183-113-32), along with making the finals once, conference once, one 1st round exit and one 2nd round exit. Not sure if this was a smart move.

For DeBoer, it's not a bad time to be fired, oddly enough. He'll get paid because it's "hockey-related". And he has a decent record so he can grab one of the many vacancies if the money's right.

I think the sharks have a player based problem more than a coaching based problem.
They're hoping for a shake up, but this season it's roster make up and lack of goaltending. That Karlsson trade and signing looks worse as time goes on, way too much money in defensemen over the hill. Losing Pavelski and their depth scoring has really hurt.
