Some features don't work, eg) spoiler tags, advanced editing features, and animated gifs.
I use Tapatalk now almost exclusively and for the life of me, I was not understanding the humour of some of the pictures in the funny pics thread. Turned out they were animated gifs, and Tapatalk only displays the first frame.
C'est la vie. At least the funny pics and videos thread makes a bit more sense now.

I use tapatalk on my ipad, iphone and briefly on the s3 when I had one.
Works great. Really makes the experience good on mobile devices, although yes there are some missing features- no big deal. Well worth the app price.

I never touch the Funny Pics thread on Tapatalk, for that exact reason.

It also doesn't display ads that are served up via the normal CP web interface, thus depriving them of income to run the site. An interesting moral quandary (easily solved I suppose by flinging CP a few bucks via donation) - some sites won't enable Tapatalk because of this, but I suppose since CP has they are OK with it.

And no "thanks". I miss that the most. Gif function has been added, but it's more miss than hit. I didn't know it was there, but if there's a tiny little ribbon around the bottom right corner of a pic and it says Gif on it, it will animate if opened

It's nice for the phone. Much easier to navigate. But on the tablet I find myself using a standard browser instead. The lack of a thanks indication/button and non-working tags bug me.

Beyond normal forum browsing, there are two uses of tapatalk that I really like:
1) Subscribing to specific sub-forums when there are many sub-forums present (ie. xda-developers). Great to have immediate access to just the areas you are interested in.
2) Viewing threads from all forums in a single list sorted by date - this is the default view when you first go to a forum. I like this in forums where I am interested in most of the sub-forums, such as calgarypuck, and can view at a glance the most recently bumped threads.

Not really sure the hd version was worth it for my iPad but it's definitely the only way to go from my phone.

Tapatalk HD will be $1 tomorrow only on the play store. So if anyone is debating on getting it, wait until tomorrow.

Is the HD version strictly for Tablets as opposed to the regular version being for smart phones?
Google store seems to confirm that but then the HD version looks a lot different.

So there's going to be separate HD and SD versions for Tapatalk? Boo. I have to rebuy it.

I think you can still use the SD version on a tablet, but it isn't optimized.
As others have said, I prefer using the regular browser for Calgarypuck on the iPad, but Tapatalk on the iPhone.
