I was at the release party for the new Battle Beast album Friday, and it was just a ridiculous amount of fun. My cheeks still hurt from just constantly grinning like a fool.

Even if you're not that into their stuff on albums, I really strongly recommend checking them out live if you get a chance, that's really where they shine. Their tour seems to bring them to Calgary too at one point!

I quite like the new album too. They don't much care about sticking to one genre, which IMO is just a bonus in music like this. (Roughly speaking power metal.)

reminds me of Danzig at the start, then Bauhaus at the end; great all the way through though.

Indie bands covering a peer (another indie band):







Maybe the Pixies is more of an influence than a peer on Hayden but Gouge Away was released in 1989 and the cover was recorded in 1995.
