Yeah, that's a really dumb take.

My sense with Liz Cheney is that she's also playing the long game for what she hopes will be a presidential run at a time when the Republicans swing back out of MAGA lunacy in future.

That's one hell of a long game.

My bad. I think I misread that you felt bad for her.

For some of the rest of you, lighten up a little. It's clearly meant to be a tad facetious.

Nah. You're overthinking it. She was projected to lose her primary long before she became a vocal opponent of Trump. Her actions since have been done to preserve her post-congress K street and media ambitions.

Once the indictments and subsequent convictions start rolling of these MAGA clowns people like Cheney and Kinzinger will hold all the "trump" cards in the GOP.

Maybe she could get governor of Wisconsin?

... But yeah, the media talking head thing is a safer bet.

No, she was born in Wisconsin. Seems more likely to get elected there as it's more moderate.

You're talking about her longevity, I'm talking about the longevity of the GOP to continue down the MAGA / GQP path. I think it easily outlasts Trump himself and for a long time.

I don't get this at all to be honest. You posted a tweet with the same sup argument as mine and just a different conclusion.

He's also sabatoging their chances of winning of the Senate which they were highly favoured to do before he decided to endorse god awful candidates like Dr. Oz and Hershel Walker.

I don't think he is sabotaging on purpose.

I think its:
  1. These Candidates suck up to him publicly and or privately - making him feel relevant
  2. He truly believes his endorsement will carry candidates in the general election despite reality saying otherwise
I think part of him, somehow, still thinks he had the 2020 election stolen from him. Its pathetic given what the Jan 6 committee showed us he was told, but I actually believe that

538 shows 99% Hagmen winning - already showing her as the candidate.

Although I couldn’t find their data sources and polls. I wonder if they don’t reflect the actual candidates yet.

Anyway I think it’s a pipe dream
She'll win in a landslide.

Also continues to be absurd that a state with 550,000 people gets the same amount of senators as California (40 million) or Texas (30 million). I don't think having a second body of government that is set differently is a terrible idea but its just a guarantee of general stasis.
