Almost 30 years old and has never had more than 36 points.
I don't think he gets a ton.

He looks to be about a 30-40p a year player?
I like it but the cost can't be too high .

So maybe a less expensive alternative to signing Hyman?

Hoping for a Jiri Hudler type of deal. That would be ideal.

He scored at a 21 goal pace last season and had at least 21 goals in the previous 3 seasons. Those are top 6 numbers in my books and he was only playing about 15 minutes a game in Tampa.

I think he played with Gourde and Goodrow so that's a good line but not crazy

Goodrow got 3.6 x 6 and Coleman is a far superior player.
If this is true I cant help but to think it's in the 5M range and with significant term. At that point it's not a very good deal.

Interesting move, adding depth for the checking lines if true.
However this is a small piece of the puzzle,

40-45 point pace the last two seasons. 35+ is probably a lock.

Goodrow is a year younger, a bit bigger, and plays more of a speed game, albeit definitely less goal scoring history. Both have played very similar roles the last two seasons, and were of course linemates.
IMO they're not that far off as comparable. Definitely not in the "way better" category.
Coleman-Backlund-Pitlick would probably be a nasty 3rd line to play against...

Already setting up the Treliving backlash?
We know it’s going to be a ton.
Reminds me of the Lucic-Brouwer scenario where Flames missed out on Lucic to the Oilers and settled on Brouwer.
Hopefully works out better.

yup, that all sounds about right - hoping it's less than $4

I'm a little cautious about committing the world Lock. We have had a couple bad burns with 9ther team productive middle six wingers recently.

Plays tough minutes too. If true and the price isn't cra-cra I strongly approve.

I imagine a lot of teams would be interested in him.
Also, he is coming off of a contract where he was really underpaid. He'll be looking for a decent raise, and probably term as well. I can see Calgary offering an "extra" year to get him to sign here.

I will disagree.
Coleman is significantly better offensively and is just as good, if not better defensively.

Sutter type player for sure.
Calgary will try and win over the next few years, then go full rebuild if required.
The term won't matter in the long run.
They didn't hire Sutter to play if safe.
Other than perhaps the hockey style.
