It's raunchy as hell but has surprising heart. GaTA is a huge standout. He has two episodes that absolutely get you in the feels. It is completed amazing he has never been an actor before.

I'm starting to think The Haunting of Hill House will be Mike Flanagan's one-hit wonder. The Midnight Club is pretty average, and it's been a slog to get through it (two more episodes)

I couldn't finish the previous Midnight series and this one I'm stuck at Episode 5 and not wanting to continue...
Neither hold a candle to Hill House for me at least.

It doesnt get any better, and i believe the intent is to have multiple seasons (so it does not have the same type of finality at the end.
Watched the first few episodes of the new series "High School" based on Tegan & Sara's teen years growing up in Calgary. Lots of warm and fuzzy 90s nostalgia in this show, especially the soundtrack which includes dozens of throwbacks like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, 54-40, The Tragically Hip, the Odds, the Breeders, Veruca Salt, etc...
Also plenty of Calgary-centric easter eggs, like gig posters for shows at the Republik, a Red Autumn Fall t-shirt, a scene where they go to a Green Day concert at the 'Dome, and several scenes filmed at Crescent Heights High School.
I've always been a big supporter of The Great British Bake Off but that all changed today when I experienced Mexican Week. Quite possibly the most cringe hour of television ever broadcast. I think I'm done.

Finally got around to watching the Haunting of Hill House, and it was amazing! I enjoyed the hell out of it. A lot of great choices in making it, some episodes in particular that blew me away with their really long scenes with zero cuts. One of them went on for like 15+ minutes. Really impressive and spooky. Highly recommend.
Started watching the Haunting of Bly Manor last night and I'm struggling to get into that one, but same director & some of the same actors so I have faith that it'll be well done too.
