I would imagine MT is pretty sore today.

Shouldn't we be frothing at the mouth and calling for blood given he was injured due to a hit from behind? That's how Oilers fans would be behaving if it was the other way around and one of their players got injured due to a questionable play.

Never use Oilers fans as the the measuring stick for behaviour, unless your goal is to forget how to read and shower.

That kind of comment would make McDavid upset. He finds out who you are, he’ll skate up behind you and elbow you in the head

Really it seems like all the Canadian fanbases act like this though. I'm sure Leafs fans would be going crazy asking for suspensions if that happened to Marnier.

I didn't like the HNIC blame it on Tkachuk spin after the hit.

Have to think they just don't like the player.

I'm good with hockey happens fast, Haas didn't mean to hit him, Tkachuk spun at the last second ... all decent explanations.

But "Tkachuk can't make that play?"

Come on.

Especially if they're going to suggest people have to go to the way when McDavid puts his career as well as a goaltender's in jeopardy.

I don’t even consider that a body check and I don’t like how plays get judged by outcomes rather than intent

He really did just seal off his player who turned at the last second. Roles reversed I wouldn’t think it deserves a two minute penalty. The fact that Tkachuk returned when we were up 4-0 leads me to believe this is a maintenance day

No doubt in my mind that HNIC is told to treat the BoA as an Edmonton home game with a pro-oiler slant.

There is a clear broadcast pecking order:
TOR - Canada's next great hope
MTL - Quebec's favored sons
EDM - all McDavid, all the time
VCR - Cause Jim Hughson has it n his contract
everyone else

It’s also super obvious that Kelly Hrudey doesn’t like Mike Smith very much considering how much he fawns over every other goalie in the entire league but loves to take potshots at Smith

I wonder if Smith threw a tantrum at him during his time here or something

Hahaha I loved how he prefaced his sentence with "I don't mind Mike Smith..." before proceeding to slam the guy.

Not even an I like Mike Smith just the I don't mind.

Smith often calls his teammates out, or stares them down on the ice after a goal, which is a trait Kelly clearly doesn’t believe is something a good teammate does

It would be very difficult as a young player playing in front of Smith. You know if you make a mistake, Smitty is going to make a show of it.
Absolute trash team mate.

Late in the game Haas had the puck on the boards near our bench and one of our guys had a chance to flatten him but pulled up. Not sure who.

Maybe if we did more noteworthy things more often, we would get better press.

The media loved this team in 2004 and 2005-06, when it was accomplishing things.

They loved them in 2018, even as they backed into 1st in the conference, and since, have given the hockey world exactly 0 reason to believe in anything they do.

How much attention do they deserve? I barely pay attention to them these days.

It is worse when it is Mike Smith's fault, Like the time he was a Flame, went behind the net and got scored on but was pissed at, "I think it was" Noah Hanifin.

Bennett had a prime chance to flatten Smith on the Ritchie goal. How he didn't made me realize some guys can avoid dangerous hits if they really want to.

One would think that there are no other fan bases like the Oilers fan base. They cry when McJesus gets a penalty for a high elbow to the head, and want a 30 game suspension for the exact same thing done by another team.
