Habs acquire Jon Merill from Detroit for a 5th and Hayden Verbeek

The Canadiens have acquired defenseman Jon Merrill from the Detroit Red Wings, in return for a fifth-round pick in 2021 and forward Hayden Verbeek.
Hayden, like Pat, looked like a bit of a ####-disturber in the Laval games I watched this year.
Merrill is a good add for Montreal.

With all the adds the Habs are making they will sure be disappointed when the Flames take all the remaining games against them and the Habs end up missing the playoffs!
Is he currently in the minors? A good get there, since he won't still count against the taxi squad or roster. The team can still look at more acquisitions till tomorrow.
Mete probably got waived for the same reason as well. More flexibility.
