Trump is a much greater "security issue."

Why can't he be escorted out of the White House and disposed of?

John McEntee, who was a personal aide to President Trump in the 2016 campaign and the White House, will also re-join the Trump Campaign as a Senior Advisor for campaign operations.

Both new members of the Trump Campaign will be based in Washington, DC, and will begin their new roles in the coming days.

Oh, and McEntee has already been hired to help with Trump's re-election campaign.

It's only Tuesday morning.

Democrats will definitely take the house this fall. The Senate is more difficult as the math doesn't quite work. Democrats have more seats as risk.

Agree... though even the house they need to focus on the issues and not get sidetracked by the Mueller's investigation. If they try and do "but look how bad Trump is" again, I don't think they'll do well. The economy is doing well which always works for the incumbents.

No chaos!

Seems like he got his fealty oaths......

Trump is not taking any guidance at all now. His portion of the executive branch is now authoritarian. And with the GOP cowing to him the other branches won’t be far behind if the mid-terms don’t have a blue wave.

Another Russian found dead in the UK. This time a critic of Putin Nikolai Glushkov and former associate of assassinated Russian Oligarch Berezovsky. I wonder how Trump will respond? Nothing to see here..

Quote:
A Russian exile who was close friends with the late oligarch Boris Berezovsky has been found dead in his London home, according to friends.

Nikolai Glushkov was discovered by his family and friends late on Monday night, aged 68. The cause of death is not yet clear. One of his friends, the newspaper editor Damian Kudryavtsev, posted the news on his Facebook page.

Without confirming the man’s name, the Metropolitan police said the counter-terrorism command unit was leading the investigation into the death “as a precaution because of associations that the man is believed to have had”.

It said there was no evidence at present to suggest a link to the incident in Salisbury, where Sergei and Yulia Skripal remain in a critical condition.

“An investigation is under way following the death of a man in his 60s in Kingston borough,” the said police, who were called by the London ambulance service at 10.46pm to reports of a man found dead at a residential address in New Malden.

In the 1990s, Glushkov worked for the state airline Aeroflot and Berezovsky’s LogoVAZ car company. In 1999, as Berezovsky fell out with Vladimir Putin and fled to the UK, Glushkov was charged with money-laundering and fraud. He spent five years in jail and was freed in 2004.

In recent years, Glushkov had lived in London, where he received political asylum. In 2011, he gave evidence at the court case brought by Berezovsky against fellow oligarch Roman Abramovich, who remained on good terms with the Kremlin.

US undersecretary of State Steve Goldstein has been fired for contradicting the White House account of how his boss, Rex Tillerson, was fired via Twitter.

Quote:
Steve Goldstein, Rex Tillerson's top spokesman at the State Department, was fired Tuesday for contradicting the official administration account of Tillerson's firing, a White House official told NBC News.

A State Department official confirmed the firing of Goldstein, who was an undersecretary of State, to NBC News, as well.

Goldstein had only been in post since Dec. 4.

Trump announced over Twitter on Tuesday that he was replacing Tillerson with CIA Director Mike Pompeo.

Goldstein had said soon afterward that Tillerson had not spoken directly about the move with the president.

Irwin Steven Goldstein, of New York, during his confirmation hearing to be Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy at the United States Department of State, before the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. on November 1st, 2017.

"The Secretary had every intention of remaining because of the tangible progress made on critical national security issues," a statement issued by Goldstein had said.

"The Secretary did not speak to the President this morning and is unaware of the reason, but he is grateful for the opportunity to serve, and still believes strongly that public service is a noble calling and not to be regretted."

NBC News reported that Tillerson had learned of his firing from Trump's tweet.

Well at least we see the first woman head of the CIA.

In 2002, she oversaw a secret prison in Thailand that tortured two terrorism suspects. That torture took place within the CIA’s “extraordinary rendition” program, in which suspected terrorists are sent to US allies, and interrogated in “black sites” on their soil.

One of the men, known as Abu Zubayda, was waterboarded 83 times in one month and was slammed into walls by the head. He was deprived of sleep and kept in a coffin-like box. Interrogators later decided he didn’t have any useful information.

ProPublica found that Haspel personally signed cables to CIA headquarters that detailed Zubayda’s interrogation.

CIA videos of the torture were destroyed in 2005, on the orders of a cable drafted by Haspel. Her then-boss Jose Rodriguez, the CIA’s director of operations for counterterrorism, signed off on the order. “The cable left nothing to chance. It even told them how to get rid of the tapes,” he wrote in his memoir, according to ProPublica. “They were to use an industrial-strength shredder to do the deed.”

From the Onion:

https://politics.theonion.com/white-...ocialMarketing

Quote:
WASHINGTON—In an effort to make the frequent festivities for departing staffers more efficient, White House officials announced Tuesday that the administration is now just holding one continuous going-away party.

“Instead of throwing a send-off celebration for Rob Porter and Rick Dearborn only to turn around and do it again a week later, we will now simply hold around-the-clock gatherings with light refreshments and cupcakes to honor whoever left the administration most recently,” said Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee-Sanders, adding that employees may now join their coworkers at any time of day in the permanently decorated White House kitchen where a never-ending stream of staffers will announce that this is their last day, perpetually deliver farewell speeches, and constantly pass around and sign goodbye cards for continuously departing coworkers.

“In order to avoid another situation like when we had three separate get-togethers in one week for Sean Spicer, Michael Short, and Reince Priebus, aides may now enjoy a cup of soda, don a party hat, reminisce over fond memories together, and say their farewells whenever it is convenient for them.” Huckabee-Sanders added that she looks forward to seeing everyone in the kitchen, where she expects to be honored shortly.

I think this deserves some emphasis.

Trump sees the Majority House Intel Committee statement to the effect that there was no collusion with the Russians as giving him care Blanche to further abandon pretext and to restructure the White House to make it fully and exclusively loyal to him.

The very real possibility that Russia is directing or at least influencing Trump, coupled with what's going on in the UK should scare the crap out of everyone. It looks a lot like Russia is already at war, and the West - if it even knows what's happening - already has one hand tied behind its back.
