Is Logan Brown anything special, though? His career tends to be trending in a Jankowski direction himself.

Sanford was v good in 2019–20, scored 16 goals and 30 points in 58 games and had Mangiapane-like underlyings. Had a tough 2020–21 season.
I think this is a really nice deal for Ottawa.

I’m disappointed Tre wasn’t in on this kid-6’6”C who just needs a change. Sens got a pretty good player though.

Brown is from STL — the Blues were probably motivated to give up more for him.

Sanford is a bottom six guy who is good at his role. He’s a good player.
Brown projects as a top six guy but hasn’t established himself at the NHL level.
Good bottom six player for a lotto ticket.

Is he Jeff Brown's kid?
Sort of a Tage Thompson replacement.

Where would he fit on the Flames? He couldn’t crack the Senators roster and he’s injury prone.

Yup, that’s maybe one of the reasons that Tre wouldn’t have made a play for him. I just like the kid, and I think he’ll do well with a change of scenery.

I like this trade for the Blues. I think Brown is worth the gamble.

Both guys look promising and it's be nice to see young guys moved around to get a new start.
Trades are fun.

Blues clear cap space to fit Thomas, Tarasenko and Sundqvist (when he's off LTIR)
