I'm going through the campaign mode right now. So far it's been more cut-scenes and crap between levels than actual gameplay. Raynor talking about this and that with his buddy in the armoured suit.

I like the buying of upgrades so I can put 6 guys in a bunker.

lol bunkers

I do a little bit of everything. Depends what my mood is. Sometimes quick matches, sometimes 2v2, sometimes co-op, sometimes achievements. It's all pretty good times.

I have to be the only person not in love with SC2. I probably would not have bought it if not for all my friends buying it.

Just not a huge fan of the rts genre. And if I did have to play an rts, I think that the supreme commander/total annihilation series never got enough respect. That was a fun game.

SC2 just gets pretty repetitive online. It is fun to win a close game, play with friends etc, I just don't think that the game itself is that spectacular.

Finished the campaign awhile ago. The last mission was actually kind of difficult the first few times on hard. Made me wish I had chosen Planetary Fortresses.

Campaign seemed slow to start but it eventually picks up. Little bit cliche at times but the whole thing is very well polished...best RTS campaign I've ever played. (Although the last I played was WC3..)

I was terrible in my 1v1 placement matches and wound up in Bronze but now I'm #1 Gold (I was Plat in Beta) and the damn thing won't rank me up yet even though I win a lot more than I lose and everybody I play is in Diamond when I check their profile afterward.

Many people don't realize there is much more game to it. If you don't like normal RTS, try the custom games, there are a few now but hopefully more in the future as SC and WAR3 both had vibrant custom games built into them.

I recenetely finished playing games of Starcraft Bumpercars and Chesscraft LOL. There's always going to be lots of tower defense maps as well.

I'll have to check later. If I failed to run the beta, (It opened map editor, but couldn't open a map)...but then again, I was trying to run a copy from a friend), can I still run the full version?

EDIT - Also, how is Galaxy Editor?

You'd be better off posting your specs so that we can see how they compare to the requirements.

Here's the minimum and recommended (I'm assuming you're not on a Mac):

PC Minimum System Requirements:
  • Windows® XP/Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 (Updated with the latest Service Packs) with DirectX® 9.0c
  • 2.6 GHz Pentium® IV or equivalent AMD Athlon® processor
  • 128 MB PCIe NVIDIA® GeForce® 6600 GT or ATI Radeon® 9800 PRO video card or better
  • 12 GB available HD space
  • 1 GB RAM (1.5 GB required for Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 users)
  • DVD-ROM drive
  • Broadband Internet connection
  • 1024X720 minimum display resolution
PC Recommended Specifications:
  • Windows Vista®/Windows® 7
  • Dual Core 2.4Ghz Processor
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 512 MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800 GTX or ATI Radeon® HD 3870 or better

Galaxy Editor is apparently really powerful, don't know from first hand experience though.

You can pretty much give up running the game on the minimum requirements. Any large amount of units on the screen and your computer will crawl to a halt. The recommended requirements are more of the baseline for what I would consider "minimum"

Agreed, my computer is higher than baseline but it still struggles with huge battles.

Well, here's what I can find:
- Windows 7
- Processor: T2060 @ 1.6 GHz
- Video Card Adapter: Intel GMA 950 (Graphics Memory 251 MB, Video Memory 64 MB)
- 1.024 GB RAM
- 1200x800 Res

I think the answer is no based on my processor speed being terrible.

EDIT - My computer also lags minor amounts from Steam downloaded Portal if that helps.

Yep, you will probably want to upgrade that somehow before diving into SC2. I think, its mainly the GMA 950 and the 1GB RAM that is holding you back.

Thanks. May just stick to my older games for now then (Other sources have said it's possible to, but it lags a ton).

Looks like a laptop, like most laptops, the weak point is the GMA 950. The processor is actually passable as it is a dual core.

I've got an ATI Radeon HD4670 and SC2 tells me I should turn the graphics down. I haven't and don't have issues but still...it's not a weak card and the game still wants more

The HD4670 is about equivalent to a 3 year old 9600GT so it is a bit weak. I would recommend an 8800GT Nvidia card or ATI 3870 minimum (again that thing where the 2nd digit is actually more important to the first one) in situations where you have large numbers of enemies or you want to run anything higher than low textures.

Installed this game and it is slooooow. Mouse/cursor very choppy.

Windows Vista - Pentium 2.2 Ghz - 2.8 GB RAM - Direct X 10 - Nvidia GeForce 7100/ NForce 630i

I thought I installed updates for Direct X and Nvidia, but directxdiag shows the same versions I had before

This sucks.
