I got a second set of rims so it is easy to swap back and forth. Takes under 10 minutes so I can do it in the morning if it looks sketchy. Figured it was worth it anyway, to keep the cassette on the summer in better condition.

The street to the pathway was ugly, and the Radford Road Wiggle to Fox Hollow was a little scary, but the rest of Nose Creek up to the Greenview industrial was fine. Fresh track riding was a blast.

you guys who rode in today are beasts - well done.
I am thinking my commuting to work is done for the year, but who knows, it could be 15 next week.
Hoping it's just a one off...
It's my first year riding, and I'm gonna miss it when I can't, so I'll see how far I can push it....but this is too much.
Couldn't ride yesterday on account of a sick kid, but as of this morning conditions are pretty good on the pathways. Bare and dry for the most part, areas with melt across the path were iced up so nice to have studs. Pedestrian bridges were still a mixed bag, the Prince's island bridge was partially cleared and had a good layer of rutted ice on top, and the Nose creek bridge at Fox Hollow and the ped bridge over Deerfoot before 32nd avenue were not cleared at all, had to push the bike through there.
I was biking home yesterday and saw a cab driver pull over into the bike lane, flip on his hazard lights, and get out of his car. As he was locking the door I said to him, "Dude, you know you can't park there". He looked at me, looked at the streets, and said, "You're right". He then got back in his car and moved it. I almost fell off my bike from surprise that he acknowledged he was wrong and moved his car. Now, he did cause delays for about 25 cars when he did an Austin Powers inspired u turn, but at least he was out of the bike lane.

Did the picture of that Mona rove change, or is it just my imagination?
Forecast looks crappy for start of the week. Over the weekend I gave my wife’s bike a final clean and put the in the basement. I am thinking I will be doing the same for my bikes and bringing up the fat bike.
Really seemed like it was a short commuter season this year.

An interesting piece of tech for a place like Calgary where conditions vary from day-to-day. I guess it's still on Kickstarter so it might be worth waiting to see how it holds up under harsh/heavy use.
Is the MUP from Edworthy to Downtown (south side of Bow) maintained/plowed? Just moved to the NW so this looks like my primary route until the north side opens up again.
Used to come in from Vista Heights and the Nose Creek path was usually paved pretty good. Just the Fox Hollow segment was sometimes neglected. I ride a gravel bike w/ studs so I have to push through anything too mucky, which Fox Hollow often got a few days after a snowfall without clearing...
I accidentally soaked a cyclist today. I didn’t see the guy and hit a puddle that sent a 7-8 foot high wall of water over the guy. I stopped and apologized. The guy was really lighthearted about it and we had a bit of a laugh. Karma is going to get me one day.
