I love absurd humor, so I though the show got better as it got weirder.

Loved the inventor, and Cecily describing how the toaster uses "per cents".

The last skit was brilliant with some absurd lines. How hollow Easter bunnies are better than solid. These writers have a bizarre streak that I like. Ex. Jim Carrey describing how he would observe a warehouse full of people with the same name.

Keaton is that rare actor, on a par with the best of his generation (Jeff Bridges, Jeff Goldblum, John Malkovich, Bill Murray, Robin Williams), who understands how comic writing works, how it can soar with fine character acting. As such, his guest host performance on SNL is Emmy-worthy—one of the finest in the show’s four-decades-long history.

I think the writers are also pushing the envelope a bit more this year as well which is helping to keep up the funny level.

I loved JK Simmons as a "traditional Japanese messy boy". So absurd

http://www.salon.com/2015/04/07/nora...ve_to_survive/

For the rest of the year, Salon will be posting regular interviews with “SNL” alums—former cast members and writers, from every era of the 40-year show—who take us behind the scenes, and have generously shared their memories and insights about the politics on and off the stage, in the writers room and Lorne Michaels’ office.

We inaugurate the series by talking to Nora Dunn

Tough to follow last week.

Liked "Depends Legends" and the old guys trading their collectable diapers.

Hollywood Game Night tries to be Celebrity Jeopardy. Host did a great Wanda Sykes.

Kate seems to be in every bit.

Liked Pete's list of nicknames at school for getting with his teacher. "Afterschool Special".

Thought weekend update was really good with Kate doing the Lucille ball statue, and Billy Crystals bit with Jacob.

Pretty solid overall, GOT, and student sleeping with his teacher were really good.

Not too familiar with the host, but thought she was pretty solid.

Skipped Mumford and sons as I do not like.

Really weak year for musical guests. Prince was the only one to write home about. Too much pop, not enough art.

ScarJo May 2nd. Expect some Avenger cameos,

I thought that was a pretty weak episode. There were a few parts I laughed at but other than that, it wasn't all that good. You can tell when episodes are going to be crap half way through but even in a bad episode, the news is still good.

That was a pretty good episode, I was expecting more Avengers stuff though.

His kneegrows stronger every day..... That was one of the funniest skits they've done in a while. I like how they're not tip-toeing around things. Throw a brick and start a fire!

I thought they totally mailed it in this week as they knew they were up against the fight. The only funny parts were the pre-taped stuff; Black Widow chick flick and Blazer.

Saturday's SNL aired a skit that was almost identical to a 22 Minutes skit.

Coincidence? Wouldnt be the first time SNL did this. Jay Mohr was let go for stealing material from another comedian.

Season finale, to be hosted by Louis CK.

I find him to be pretty lazy on SNL. It's almost like he mocks trying at SNL because it's not his show (I believe he stated that he doesn't like doing things where he's not in control of everything).

Lot's of potential with him, but he kind of takes Bill Hader and Kristin Wiig's "laugh through everything and have fun with the skits and receive laughs for breaking" and brings it down another level to "speak in a monotone voice and mock the skits that were written and make it very obvious it isn't your gig and you didn't write anything".

Yeah, I've been a huge LCK fan for years, and I gotta admit he tends to phone it in at times on SNL. Especially in the "after WU" ones, when they get a bit sillier. His embarrassment in certain skits is fairly obvious at times. It's a little disrespectful to the cast, even if that's not his intent.

That said, he's had some classics, like his Abe Lincoln. I also enjoy how he just does stand-up for his monologue (and fresh material), instead of some stupid song like most.

On a side note, I'm months behind on my PVR for SNL (finally just got into the 2015 episodes), but so far this season has been a pleasant surprise. Agreed with many here that the somewhat risky (in it's randomness) writing has been fun.

And I think I may be the only Colin Jost fan for WU on here, I like his Michael Bluthesque, straight man role. Not every WU anchor needs to be able to pick up a guitar or have a super extroverted personality. His dry one-liners are some of the best I've heard on WU.
