Ha! That would be awesome but I doubt it. He drives the Zam for the Marlies - hence the T.O gear.
Time to call it what it is:
The NHL is junk.
We now have repeat performances by guys off the street coming in and playing even if for a moment as pros at the sport's most important position. We have a team that plays half the season as the worst in the sport and then ends up winning the championship. We have an expansion team filled with players other teams didn't want, with no breakaway rookie talent winning their division and making the final round of the playoffs.
It's just ludicrous. There is no more up from down, right from wrong, or any sense to make of this league (and maybe sport) any longer.
It's either the most exciting random sequence that you can imagine, or it's just plain garbage we're being sold. My money is on the latter.

So I assume you will watch it no longer?

Every team in the NHL is required to have an Emergency Backup Goaltender(EBUG) Most teams have tryouts for the position and end up having some practice time with the team. This emergency goaltender must be available to both teams as we saw last night.
The EBUG can only be used if both a teams starting and backup goaltender are injured during the game.
Here's an older article on the emergency backup goaltender.
my cousin was able to find two separate game sheets from senior hockey where he scored hat tricks against Ayres- those have become interesting keepsakes all of a sudden
