2020 Cavalry FC and CanPL Thread

I hope this match is ugly, boring, and sloppy. I think that will benefit Cavalry the most. Frustrate the hell out of them. I'm hoping for the best but worst 1-0 in the club's short history.

Yeah at best I think you can call Wheeldon's team selections during the tournament questionable. Hoping for the best.

Not many options today with Ledge out, but yeah, Tommy made some real questionable lineup choices earlier in the tournament.

It just f'ing sucks we're decimated by injuries and missing players. The Cavs lineup posted above gives me anxiety.

Notice I didn't mention Jay Wheeldon, because I think the team is better when he's not in the lineup.

You know when you watch the Flames about to get knocked out of the first round of the playoffs, and they show some glimpses of positive play, but you know they are nowhere near a championship team?

This game is kind of like that.

I would have preferred a back 4 of Mavila Trafford Zator Farsi, seems a much stronger back line.

Could have used Luca/Escalante/Camargo/Northover/Ledgerwood/Pasquotti/Minatel.

We are playing with a decimated team. I don't have much hope, this is an uphill battle.

HFX have the head-to-head tiebreaker over Cavalry.

It's also amazing how many shots Calvary have missed hitting the net since the beginning of the tournament. So. many. missed. shots.

Nothing going forward other than Farsi and a few half chances from Haber. I liked the little we saw from Hernandez, Cordova needs a healthy training camp to find how he fits into this team.

Looking to next season we desperately need a midfielder to replace Büscher, someone who can play in transition and make the penetrating passes. Can Simmons be that guy? Maybe, he showed some flashes.

Farsi by far player of the tournament for the Cavs

Club needs an overhaul at CB and in attack. Too many defensive mids on the squad as well. Looking forward to a healthy Cordova and Escalante returning. Hope we can keep Farsi, his play was the bright spot throughout the tournament.

Frustrating 2020 to say the least. Hopefully we will all be back in the stands in 2021.
