Default Connor Knapp, Joni Ortio, Laurent Brossoit

Connor Knapp bounced around the ECHL for some rough teams until the Olympics shuffle took Calgary's goaltending prospects out of Alaska. Allowing a temporary assignment and a few wins. Knapp started for the Sabers today.

We all know of Ortio.

While Laurent Brossoit didn't record any time, he still counts as one of 3 goalies to see time in Alaska this season and make it to the NHL as he backed up in Edmonton for a few games.

What a bizarre year to have 3 make it up the ranks.

Buffalos goaltending situation has been crazy.

Ryan Miller
Jhonas Enroth
Michal Neuvirth
Nathan Lieuwen
Matt Hackett
Connor Knapp

all started games for them this year, plus Jaroslav Halak and Andrey Makarov dressed as backup. Just bizarre, never seen anything like it. After trading Miller, Enroth and Neuvirth both went down with injuries and they traded Halak again, so suddenly they had their AHL duo Lieuwen and Hackett up, only to see them go down with injuries as well, so they had to call up Knapp and Makarov ... their AHL farmteam had a tandem of Mark Guggenberger (another former Aces goalie!) and Kevin Kapalka dressed tonight, none of which had played any AHL games previously.

I remember Guggenberger. He was the Rockets goalie when Backlund played for them... heh, my dad (who lives in the area) once told me a eatery in Kelowna was offering the Guggenburger while he was there.
