No thanks, Torts is a capable coach. I think they should extend Tippett
So is Tippet, so was MacLellan, so was Hitchcock.
Torts is far to intelligent to go there. I think Tippet and McLellan and Quinn/Renney are/were too, they got sold a bill of goods thst was false, they just didn’t believe how much the coach and GM actually get undermined by management above them when it comes to everything on the ice, so they can’t actually coach the way they want…they likely heard it happened, but didn’t believe it until they saw it or experienced it.
I like Michaels flow better than Harnaryan. Plus he’s a bigger homer so it would be hilarious to watch the Oil get killed and see him put positive spin on it.
Gulutzan can at least coach a possession game, which might get more out of their bottom six.
Tippett's rope a dope is best. Completely takes away their bottom six, while inflating the numbers of McDrai
Remember how Gulutzen had everyone park at the blue line before they could all enter the zone and give the opposition time to setup? Ya, do that to McDavid. Neuter his speed. Watch the success fly in.
Torts is good. But he and McDavid would fight and it would be so funny to watch.
I don’t think we’d call it a fight. It would be Torts getting frustrated from yelling at a brick wall while McDavid sits there silently with that in the midst of a bad stomach flu face.

McDavid has probably never had a Torts-like presence in his life. At least not in his hockey career.
And yet, karmically, it feels like exactly what he has coming to him after years of cushy snowflake living and constant ass-kissery from men twice his age.
It also has the makings of a classic trap game where the Flames play down to their opponent. Hopefully the boys are fired up and ready to go tonight. I think this game will likely be a first goal wins scenario. If the Flames can jump out to an early lead, I think we'll be in good shape.
If Edmonton scores first, it'll pump them up emotionally and it could end being a long night for the Flames if they allow it to snowball.

This can’t be a trap game for the Flames. Unless every game where you are the better team is a trap game, but Flames have their own stakes on the line here. One win in the last five?
