Imagine telling a Sens fan after Game 7 last year that next year the Sens would be third last in the league and trading Erik Karlsson... AFTER trading for Matt Duchene.

Bertuzzi should've never played in the NHL after the Moore attack. It was a disgrace to see him wear the Canadian sweater in 2006, and it was an awful feeling to cheer for him. Whenever I see Bertuzzi jerseys at the Dome, it's like 'that dude broke someone else's neck and ruined his life, but he also did score 43 points for us once'.

And he's a former Canuck. Don't wear that guy's shirt.

Marchment also stings because they only signed him because Sutter gave away Lydman.

No one else on the ive played a role in the moore incidence at all.....

I had a dream or maybe a nightmare (can't figure out what it was)

To Calgary.
Karlsson, Stone and Jonathan Dahlen

To Ottawa.
Monahan, Brodie, Ferland and Valimaki

Do not like.

No Monahan means half our offense is gone. I also don't want Valimaki dealt as he could be the best d prospect Calgary has had in like 3 decades.

If this was actually on the table, Flames take it and run.

Jesus Christ.

I totally misread the post.

I haven't followed this years draft class closely . I was thinking of someone else who I thought was Dahlen.

Yes, I would think Calgary would run like the Ikea lady after that deal.

Why would anyone want Karlsson in Calgary? Seriously, look at the crap system this team plays. Why would you waste a thorobred race horse by harnessing him to a plow? We already have some of the best offensive defensemen in the game and our system does not allow them to join the rush or activate when they see opportunity. Why would you go and expend so much of the team’s resources to acquire a player who you are not going to use the strengths in their game? Makes no sense.

Because he is the best offensive defenseman in hockey?

We simply do not have the assets to grab Karlsson without giving up one of our top players. We already paid for Hamonic, why the heck are we going for Karlsson?

I think the Sens should just trade Karlsson for Barrie++ since the Avs have the Sens' 1st round pick for '18/'19.

Any trade where we lose monahan is a disaster in my opinion. Trade anyone but Monahan Gaudreau Tkachuk and Hamilton.

Brodie/Hamonic+Ferland+Bennett+Dube or any other forward prospect+ any D prospect or 2019 first for Karlsson and Bobby Ryan retained 25%.

Alternately Brodie+Bennett/Ferland+ any prospect/2019 1st for Stone
I don't think it's realistic they trade both Karlsson and Stone, only one or the other.

Just can't see this being a good deadline deal for Ottawa. Unless the team they're dealing with is also going to miss the playoffs, there's no way he gets the return of a very good roster player or two, plus good prospects plus picks, which would be his value, probably.

Talk of attaching Bobby Ryan to this just to remove his contract would also be idiotic if you're serious about Ottawa winning, because then the price comes way down for the purposes of cap relief only and Karlsson is more a sweetener than a ultra main peice.

Especially after the Duchene deal Dorian should be very careful, but Melnyk likely pulling his clout here too after Dorian got a 4 year contract in his back pocket.

This should be a summer deal where a team thet got to R2 or beyond and wants to reload and reevaluates which good peices they may want to part with going into a fresh year, will net Ottawa the highest return.

What does this year's draft have to do with that trade or Dahlen?

And Dahlen isn't really a factor in whether you do that trade or not.

Are you thinking Rasmus Dahlin?

So is Karlsson. Got to give to get. my proposal is also about getting out of that good guy/ club house mentality. Sorry but for decades flames seem to bring in "good guys" who don't have that " hate to loose" mentality.

Karlsson has never struck me as the pro-typical "hate to lose" player.

Theyd have the cap room alright.
McJesus and Karlsson eating a quarter of their cap. Not to mention Looch chomping good on it as well.
Draisatl being the main piece back to Ottawa could make sense, I guess

Maybe add Tyler Benson

Draisaitl, Lucic, Larsson, 1st/Puljujarvi
For
Karlsson, Ryan, Brassard

Cap is fairly even. I could see Lucic being the deal breaker so maybe take he, Brassard and the pick out? Draisaitl and Larsson for Karlsson and Ryan?

I actually think 4 of the 6 Canadian teams could build packages for EK

Flames -Hamilton
Leafs - Nylander/Marner
Oilers- Draisaitl/picks
Jets- Trouba

Brodie ++ over Hamilton. Karlsson is definitely better than Hamilton but dougie's still improving and has potential to add using his frame into his game. Plus he's cost controlled. Hamilton we have to keep.
