Like most comics, her aggresive humour is obviously rooted in her personal insecurities. I mean, it can’t be easy for her to find a normal boyfriend. But yeah, I agree, her performances are always similar and one-sided.

I think she is by far the most vulnerable and open-hearted cast member. Her heart is on her sleeve. She is the one most likely to break and laugh out loud.

I agree. She’s a lot like Chris Farley in that way, who described himself as always playing the same character at different volumes.

I like Leslie as well. She stumbles on line readings more often than any cast member in the history of SNL but her self-deprecating jokes about her personal life and the trials of dating as a big black woman is pure gold.

And she's a must follow on Twitter during the Olympics.

Copied this from the politics thread and replied here since it'll end up being off topic... but does SNL not trust their cast members anymore? All of these juicy roles going to established celebrities. Alex Baldwin, Larry David, Mellissa McCarthy.. now all those guys? I'd be pretty pissed if I was a cast member.

I don’t know about the cast but I’m pretty annoyed as a viewer. Having the opening sketch drag out while the audience cheers whenever celebrities show up is not conducive to good comedy. I shut the show off any time I see Alec Baldwin.

And what's the point of bringing in new cast members like Nwodim, only to barely use them and if so only as the straight man?

That was something.

Some funny stuff on tonight, I like the Merry Christmas from SNL one.

Very funny tonight.

Chuckled at the ultra privileged white girl (poorly) singing so this is Christmas. Couldn’t get more American 2018.

Easily, the best show of the season to-date. Except for the "new normal" Trump opening episode, which was not funny and annoying, the rest of it was good. Weekend Update with Jost reading Che's black jokes without seeing them first was hilarious. "Weezer" sketch was at an entirely next level for me – it SOO resembles the arguments I've had with my musician friends! Seeing Cyrus & Sean Lennon singing "War is Over" together was very nice too.

Yeah, Miley's jacket was pretty much the main point of conversation between my wife and I because she had to explain to me how that jacket managed to stay in place. I also love the Weezer debate sketch. I agree with Leslie!

Was the Weezer sketch supposed to be a follow up to the dinner party Shrek debate with Sterling K Brown?

https://www.metatube.com/en/videos/4...-Dinner-Shrek/

That one was definitely one of my favourites in years.

Weekend Update was hilarious. Definitely the funniest stuff they've done so far this season.

The "Best Christmas Ever" skit was also really good.

It was a great episode. Damon's monologue was awesome, his Kavanah is my favorite of the celebrity Trump cameos. De Niro is terrible.

Weekend update was fantastic.
