If you're going to combine the other players' stats, you'd also need to factor in Ovechkin's 55 total goals scored in the KHL/RSL. Doing that puts him closer to Gretzky (who had 46 total goals in the WHA).
LOL, your totally right and I think I looked up his stats but forgot to include his totals. I did for the other guys so to be fair, I should have for Ovi as well. The top tier Russian league does have good quality players for sure when Ovi played.
Next up, Mark Messier at 694. Ovechkin should pass that in nine days when the Capitals play their next game, he will get another hat trick against the Habs.

Interesting to see if he can get past Gartner this season - would require 17 more goals for a total of 51 on the year. Doable but by no means guaranteed.
If he does, then you'd have to think he takes over 4th from Hull next season, 3rd from Jagr the season after that, and... then we see where things stand as far as the path to 802.

Still blows my mind that he managed 15 30+ goal seasons in a row, even with a 48 game season due to the lockout. Greatest goal scorer ever.
We are all as hockey fans watching likely the greatest goal scorer of all time go after the most prestigious record in all of hockey, all in real time. I find it unlikely that there will ever be a run at this record like we are seeing now. And this is keeping in mind he went through half a lockout and didn't enter the NHL until he was 20.
Absolutely amazing what he is doing at this age. 34 years old and on pace for 58 goals? Come on now. Nobody should be able to do that, and yet here is OV proving the doubters wrong yet again.
I've learned to savor every moment when these ''legendary'' players are on the highlights night after night. Can't wait to see him pass Pastrnak in goals and win another Rocket.

Actually, extremely uncommon now, or really, ever...
