I'm not sure this is a good idea this soon - don't think they have the roster or product quite at a level yet where they should be expanding to more content to fill out.

Hard to keep things feeling fresh and new (which is their main advantage) when you have to fill out so much TV time each week.

They might just broadcast Dark instead of leaving it on the website or youtube or wherever it lives now.

This is what I was thinking. Saves costs on production, and people still want to see some of those great dark Matches they broadcast on YouTube. They may change the format though, including less in-between commentator time and more story-line development.

I think the issue with AEW is that there just isn't enough time to properly develop storylines and build a deep mid-card; an extra hour might help that along.

Rocky Johnson passed away today.

He was an awesome performer in his day and lead to the Rock.

I remember watching him in Stampede Wrestling back in the day, so much fun to watch.

Royal Rumble is on Sunday and yet they close Raw with more couples therapy nonsense. I love the Rumble more than any PPV, but they're really testing my patience this year.

Yeah, its almost like there's been no real setup for the card.

We've got the Men's Rumble and the Woman's Rumble

The Fiend vs Daniel Bryan in a strap match - I'm just not all that excited for this match, The Fiend has lost a lot of steam for me, and its time to take the belt off of him

Becky vs Asuka -This could literally be the match of the night, Becky hasn't really been lighting things on fire for the last 6 month, the playing up of her and Seth's relationship actually harmed her character. Asuka and Becky though can put on a five star match

Bayley vs Lacey - Lacey has improved but she's still a botch machine and Bayley is going to have to carry her a bit. I like Bayley as a heel, but I think at some point she needs to stab Sasha in the back and really push the heel thing. I expect though that Lacey is getting the win

Roman Reigns against King Corbin - Falls count everywhere - FFS, I don't care about this match at all. Roman bores the crap out of me, and Corbin is a good heel but we know Roman is going over him.

Sheamus vs Shorty G - I'm glad Sheamus is back after the rumors of him retiring, but this is a match that really should be a Raw or Smackdown main event.

Braun against Shinshuke - Is Braun even relevant anymore, is Shinsuke? This one will be over in a hurry as Braun really needs a belt.

As for tonights Raw, the only thing good about that main event was Liv who was finally allowed to show that she can you know do things in the ring. I will say that she throws the best clothesline of all of the woman. She's a good worker who's been savagely under utilized. But putting her in a storyline with a hideously untalented Lana and making her lose is stupid. Can we end this whole thing please.

Been reading on a few sites that, since AEW has been more successful than people thought it was going to be right out of the gate, that WWE has been more accommodating with regards to giving talent time off. Sounds like a lot of guys are getting reduced schedules put into their new contracts without sacrificing money because Vince doesn't want them to jump ship.

Whatever you think of AEW as a product, I think just the fact that they exist is a good thing for the industry, especially for the talent, and we should all be rooting for them to succeed for that reason alone.

In other competition news, it sounds like MLW could be on the verge of landing a nice TV deal.

Wrestling is an industry that does much better when there is competition, for everyone involved. Wrestlers, promoters, writers, and especially fans. Complacency is the worst attribute a promotion can get; being constantly innovative and fresh keeps the product strong.

One big difference between the WWE/AEW era and the WWF/WCW era: fans want the emergence of new stars to bring value to the product, rather than wait for someone to "jump ship" and tip the weekly ratings war in a particular favor. I think this is where both NXT and AEW are both doing excellent work. NXT's build of Angel Garza, and AEW's monster pushes to MJF and Darby Allin have me particularly excited for the next generation of talent.

That said, there are options for guys like Brody Lee and the Revival to better build their brands. This is the beauty of the current renaissance of wrestling.

Such a good wrestling week. Dynamite still is going through growing pains, but this week's episode from the cruise ship was really good. NXT has been doing a nice build to Saturday's Worlds Collide. And while WWE has been all over the place, the Rumble is always a highlight of the calendar every year. Should be a fun weekend!

Yeah he always has been

I always loved Molly Holly. Bianca Belair with a huge performance. I hope Alexa didn't kill herself with that bump to the ring post, she looked hurt.

I hope Charlotte doesn't win this.

I'm really tired of these over elaborate avoiding elimination spots by Naomi every year.

Yeah, the ratings are in the toilet and the woman's division has fallen on hard times, you have a chance to bring in a really credible threat to the woman's title, and you push Charlotte, again, boring old, every match is the same Charlotte. Ugh.

So far for me this hasn't been a great Rumble. Now Lesnar just moving through everyone.
