Liberal proposal to be announced this morning. If reelected, they will be banning the AR family of rifles and other firearms they do not like, as well as new storage laws, where you can store your firearms. So likely central storage.
The AR has never been used in a crime in Canada. Licenced gun owners arent the ones doing the pew pew yer dead episodes in downtown Toronto.
This must be that "evidence based policy" they talked about.
Between blackface and now 3 million motivated voters, they are done.

How many of those 3 million voters weren’t already motivated to vote for somebody other than the Liberals? Don’t even think it registers as a blip with the other stuff going on.

Theres quite a few, actually. Judging from people on online forums. My grandfather for example, a farmer was a liberal supporter.
Harper attributed his promise to remove the long gun registry as a major component to his election success.

This is absolute BS. I know that there aren't too many people on this board that are sympathetic to law abiding gun owners, but this is ridiculous. This will only hassle people that respect guns and obey the law, while doing absolutely nothing to reduce actual gun violence. I am so sick and tired of the sanctimonious crap that comes from this Liberal government!

Liberals going to the Danforth area to grave dance this announcement, describing how they will punish the licenced and law abiding.
Bravo. Our blackfaced, moral superiors.

There are a lot of people who own guns that don't automatically vote Conservative. People who would be motivated by plans to arbitrarily prohibit, and then most likely seize without compensation, thousands of dollars of their legally owned and acquired property.

This is poorly thought out to be honest, there are going to be a lot of VERY worried Liberals today, especially in rural ridings.

So we just wait until we have a few mass shootings with certain assault rifles and then try to do something about it? As was said in the article there are certain types of guns that ordinary citizens do not need in our society. I agree.

Which ones are these? Semi-automatics? Ones that are black and some people think look scary?

And assault rifles are already prohibited in Canada.

I'll never get or understand peoples fascination with guns. Is there a legitimate belief that if Trudea gets uppity a bunch of overweight dudes in their 30s and 40s and older are going to overthrow the government with their weapons? If you want to protect your home and put your family at risk, get a pistol and roll the dice. But there's no reason you need a god damn AR15.

Re: Whiteoutll

Ok fine. Let’s just ban them all. Except hunting rifles. Better?

So we ban all guns, but allow people to keep rifles that are by and large more powerful than the ones being banned? And what is your definition of a hunting rifle?

One of many who is too boring; thinks that there should be rules regarding grammar in custom user titles, and also makes moderators wonder if there is a charachter limit here. I mean come on- you would think that would be a limitation in the software

Imagine being so lost in your own gun hysteria that you actually believe your bloc represents 10% of the voting public.

We share a boarder with the US, gun capital of the world. If someone wants to obtain a firearm to commit a mass shooting, I sincerely doubt that they are going to go through the long and expensive process of obtaining one legally when they could easily get what they want from the States that is considerably more lethal than what you can purchase here. You want to confiscate my guns? As a law abiding citizen, I will not be happy, but I will comply. Now, how have you made our country safer, exactly?

Character assassinations aside, please tell me how banning ARs fits in with the liberals assertion of having 'fact based policy' when you will not be able to find one instance of ARs being used in violent crime in this country?

You know, if we ban booze then little jimmy wont get plowed down by a drunk driver.
You dont need alcohol in our society.
