Weird Al Yankovic. First concert I ever attended (I was probably 8?)

Rage Against the Machine, probably. While I didn't totally understand the message they were trying to relay a 7 or 8 years old I loved the hard music and still love Morello's style of guitar. The idea of "the space between the notes" is still amazing to me. Being the only kid in my class actually allowed to listen to "Killing in the Name Of" was pretty sweet.
Being 16 when I finally realized that I recognized the voice in Know your Enemy.

Duran Duran then turned to EMF to Nine Inch Nails. NIN is still my favourite “band” and to see what Trent has become now still blows my mind. He’s a genius.

I was influenced a lot by my older sister and she constantly raved about this band. I listened to it frequently because she played it, and I ended up really liking it too. I was pretty young, probably no more than 6 or 7, but it stuck with me. Still one of my favorite bands:
Crowded House
That album is one of the best pop albums ever, but their follow up had really intriguing tracks like Into Temptation that cemented my interest even further.
A close second would have been Tears for Fears. Everybody Wants To Rule The World and Shout were iconic songs for my youth.
What can I say? I've always liked slower and thought provoking music.

I had a few tapes before I discovered this band and it was played non stop in the dressing room before games and practices. Especially "Smoking in The Boys Room".
I wasn’t really into music until around grade 7 or 8. I liked a lot of different stuff but the first time I heard Stabbing Westward’s Wither Blister Burn and Peel, I was obsessed.

Muchmusic played their farewell concert at the Sydney Opera House a lot.
That's how I found out about Crowded House.
I've loved music since I can remember. Infancy to age 6 or 7, it was the Beatles/Zeppelin. Kiss in elementary. AC/DC, Sabbath, Ozzy, Maiden, Priest, Def Lepp in Jr High. Metallica/Megadeth in high school.
Blink 182. I remember seeing the music video for “What’s My Age Again?” as a 12 year old and knew I wanted to play music. Haven’t looked back since. I was so obsessed with “Enema of The State” and “Take Off Your Pants and Jacket” around 1999-2002. Ok, I guess that hasn’t changed much. Cool thread idea. You pals have some great posts/bands.
