The Oilers are like the guy who bounces a cheque in a small town at a gas station and the only way the owner can get paid is by putting the deadbeats name requesting payment next to the price of gas.

Former Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers great Mark Messier stated that he lost a $500,000 investment in an Alberta-based cannabis company, TSN’s Rick Westhead reports.
Messier invested in Destiny Bioscience and is now filing a lawsuit against CEO Ed Moroz, alleging that the company used his celebrity status to gain “instant credibility” with other investors.

I see the 'experts' are picking the oilers to be top 2 in the division standings already. Different season, same rubbish predictions (one year they'll right, so they keep rolling the dice)

Wow a blueline with Larsson and Nurse as a top pairing followed by Barrie and Russell and Jones and Bear?
That could be one of the worst bluelines in the league and with a goalie duo of Koskinen and Smith they might need to score 10 goals a game to win.
Especially with a forward group with zero sense of how to play on their side of the blueline.

Looking at that Oilers team, they're going to be at best bottom third in the league. Tippet will once again quit halfway through the season like he did with the Yotes and read a paper behind the bench.
McDavid and Draisaitl demand to take their talents to the New York Rangers by the trade deadline because they're getting too old for this garbage.

This is gonna be a rough year for Edmonton. This alignment does them no favors at all, and playing only 6 teams all year means the other teams can really focus down on each opponent to develop gameplans, player matchups etc. I think teams will be more effective shutting down McAvi and Raisatl since that's all their opponents need to focus on, and finding weaknesses in their D and goaltending is like finding sand at a beach.

Edmonton's nets will be lit up like a pachinko machine...
I've started referring to them as "Edmonton Hockey Club" (similar to their CFL team situation).
They're so no good, they don't even deserve to be called the Oilers.

Without Klefbom, their D core is already weak, and shallow.
Their Goaltending is bottom 5 in the league.
A compact season with games so often means likely less being able to lean on their only two forwards who can do anything offensively. An injury to either one virtually guarantees them a terrible season, they are mostly guaranteed a terrible season even WITH both players.

Someone take an easy $100 off one of these media people by betting on them to finish in the bottom four.
Toronto, Calgary, one of Winnipeg or Vancouver likely finish ahead.
They are as shallow as ever, especially on the back end. No Klefbom, Russell declining, Larsson dropping the ball defensively this past season, Nurse's low IQ. Smith guaranteed to get starts because of Tippett.
If they think Turris' two way play and Barrie's defensive game are going to help keep the pucks out they're going to be in for a shocker.

I have to think he's looking for a fresh start with another team. You have to give the Tenderness props as he's been a good soldier, never asking for a trade as he's really the only guy left from the 2nd rebuild. Or was it the 3rd rebuild...
