Got about a season and a half into the X-Files, then life got in the way. Can't really comment too much on it, but it certainly wasn't the worst thing I watched.

the issue with Prison Break was that the 2nd season wasn't even a bad idea, it was just done poorly
season 1 - breaking out of a prison - great tv
season 2 - essentially remaking the fugitive - should have been great tv - failed

For sure. For the most part I enjoyed the second season, but I remember wondering why they were going in the direction they were, and why they were executing it that way. It didn't bode well for the third season. Sure enough, a handful of episodes into that next season I just tuned out.
After how invested I was in the Scofield character and the triumph of that first season I really wanted to go back and finish the series off. With all the great TV on nowadays, I just can't bring myself to watch it out (even though I think it's all on Netflix).

This is wandering totally off topic, but I always thought Prison Break's Wentworth Miller had tons of charisma and on-screen presence. I think he would have made a far better Anakin Skywalker than the manchild display they ended up with.

So we're a go on X-files, and a no on Prison Break then.
The more I think about it, Mulder and Scully with 10 years of baggage, and the actors with 10 years of experience, this could be very good if done right. Imagine how far they can take X-files creepiness using today's filmmaking techniques and boundaries.

Wait did I read that wrong?
I read X-Files as a reboot.

Nope, as it stands now, it's a continuation. Not a lot of support for a reboot, and Gillian Anderson is the most vocal in support of a revival, asking twitter followers to put pressure on Fox with the #xfiles2015 tag.

Oh man, if they could get X-Files going again that would be fantastic!
