Yea, IMO it was a complete BS penalty, a "racing incident" as they say. Vettel had lost control on the snap oversteer entering the first right hander. He never had control of the car until he was about half way across the track as he left the grass. We need to remember that the cars are going about 160kph at that spot and there is really no chance to collect and control an F1 car on grass.
Vettel also did manage to leave Hamilton room. Sure Hamilton had to back out a bit, but that is racing. Vettel did not force him into a wall, left him room, and certainly didnt gain any advantage. Had Hamilton picked the inside line (he had the choice since he saw Vettel lose it going into the first right), he would have sailed past Vettel and we'd all be crowing about Hamilton getting Vettel to crack again (which he did).
Its too bad, because that was a wonderful race, battle for P1 + P2, P4 - P6 was tight, Stroll had a great first stint on those medium tires. Haas blows chunks. But all anyone is going to talk about is Vettel getting jobbed.
I'll update the standings shortly...

And now the moment you're all waiting for (except for Speede5 + BagoPucks...that penalty screwed Speede5)...
3thirty with the top points again this week, nipped me by 4. Nice work. He also extends his lead over 2nd...3thirty, BagoPucks, and Speede5 all had 8 correct picks.
DoubleK with Stroll paid off this weekend, nice pick!
Jepworth and GWE missed picks, but it was their first. Copied picks from Monaco.
No one got the bonus point for Bottas.
Alot of us also thought KMag was gonna have a race...LOLOL. He was terrible. His commentary on the radio said it all "this is the worst car I've ever driven, in any motorsport series, its terrible."...followed by Guenther Steiner..."Alot of guys worked all night to make sure you could drive today. Enough means enough!!". I had to laugh at that.
As always, let me know if anyone sees a mistake...

I am floundering in the mid field. I do all the research and get no results. Feels bad.

Haha, thats the beauty of racing. Norris was looking great and then his brakes literally melt his suspension apart. KMag looked great up till he kissed the Wall of Champions in Qualifying and was then atrocious in the race. Stroll was dynamite tbh. Outside of the top 6, it's pretty much luck. I'm just picking mine after FP2...I'd simply copy 3thirty. He missed Australia and has a very solid lead.
Maybe next year we pick P4 - P13...assign the same points as 1 - 10th.

It was a really entertaining race weekend to say the least. More than anything I blames my belief that Haas will figure things out. I am starting to think that Renault will beat them too it though. They looked strong this weekend, and apparently they have more improvements incoming for the France GP.
The race for 4th is wide open...

Agreed, it was an entertaining race!! Haas just looks totally lost and I really thought they'd do much better in Canada. Renault looked the best I've seen in a couple seasons. Ricciardo had a great battle with Bottas and Hulk looked good (hardly saw him on TV). I hope they are aiming high for France...it's their home race. I'd love to see them do well and then really push RBR at Austria the following week for their home race.
I wonder if Stroll blowing a Merc engine in practice had them dial their engines back a bit?? Forgot about that.

I read an article that said Haas was going through growing pains, they recently increased their team size, and have been struggling to keep everything moving in the right direction. I can't imagine that Grosjean races for them next season.

I still like F1 racing games even if I don't like watching F1 right now. F1 2019 comes out soon, who is getting the game?

I will for sure! Is it true they are switching up the usual released date of late summer to coincide more with the actual season?

I've never used a wheel, I'm assuming that makes racing games a lot more fun?

Yup, comes out next week. Definitely get a wheel, 100000x better. Even a cheap one like a g920

I’m not done with 18 yet but I’ll buy it eventually. They’re pretty decent games and have been improving a lot in the last few years. Nice balance between arcade and sim.
Wheels are expensive but improve the racing experience exponentially.
