Yah, I only listen to SC for specific guests I'm interested in. Otherwise, it's not my cup of tea. Too much dudebro energy that I find too cringe to enjoy.

Calgary is not the most attractive destination for free agents but he convinced Markstrom, Coleman, Kadri and other high profile UFA’s to pick Calgary.
His 2 massive blockbusters with the Hurricanes and Panthers were amazing deals the moment they were announced.

I think bringing Sutter in was the game changer for attracting talent.

edit - sorry, I posted this before listening to it all; save your 20 min, it is not worth it; just a lot of fluff

They need to get their drafting turned around, been pretty bad since the all-time greatness of 2016. But other than that not really much to complain about

Aside from 2017 and Valimaki (who was considered a solid pick) there’s not much to complain about. No decent picks in 2018 and form where they drafted in 2019 onward, no subsequent draftees have really outperformed Calgary’s.

That’s fair. You can’t hit if you don’t have swings. I would like to see the pick deficit corrected. Any time you’re trading a pick away you should be trying to get one back, even if it’s a 7th.

It's reflective of where the team is right now in their cycle. They are trying to win now. Thus draft capital will be used for that, not to recoup picks.

I love it because it's dumb fun entertainment in a hockey media world that's dominated by dry and boring. I don't want everything to be analysis, insider info and stats. Glad there's also a place to get stories and laughter

Then you’re not complaining about drafting, you are complaining about trades.

Haha I completely forgot about Biz mentioning the 7M they’re over the cap, and then saying, “maybe they should give it to Kane and let him gamble it away”
Doesn’t make sense at all, but I was roaring. Whit was losing it too on that one

I never understand the hate. They're both funny guys and are always very respectful of every guest. I never watch SC expecting in depth hockey knowledge but its entertaining. A lot of good stories, some behind the scenes stuff you'll never get from traditional media, get to see more of the personalities of players.

I am all for shooting the s*** and being unfiltered on a podcast behind the scenes but the intensity with which they drop the f bombs and tmi shares randomly in their interviews does take you off guard . at least they pull off the 2003 jock thing in a fun and mostly funny way , but to most not involved in the game their behavior will come across outdated and abrasive . oh well though at least it's different

I think some people here just live in a world where people talk like that all the time, and some don't. It's certainly not jarring to me, I hear way worse at work every day

the content is fine .. I think the intensity can come off exaggerated . surely someone can tell a story without yelling f*** in the middle of each sentence . a strategically dropped profanity can liven what you have to share but going there frequently makes it easier for the person listening to tune out bc then you're that person who is always being intense for what seems like no reason .

Or else it just ####### makes you sound like you've ####### got ####### Tourette's syndrome. Probably handed the #### down from Ozzy ####### Osbourne.
Which doesn't even sound intense, just boorish and slightly demented.
