I don't think there are any special eligibility requirements for the Spengler. It's an invitation tournament, so it would be up to the organizers to determine eligibility. In the past, we've even seen players who weren't under contract anywhere play in the Spengler (like Cujo before he signed with the Flames).

It looks like this year, Team Canada has 10 players who are on loan from an AHL team, including Josh Brook from the Wranglers.

The Wranglers have loaned defenseman Josh Brook to Team Canada's Spengler Cup squad.

You think he goes back for a 3rd ahl season even if he wins top goaltender awards again this season?

I think he does but only because the Flames insist on not graduating young players.

He’d have played an NHL game by now for most other orgs.

Wolf is only 21 years old this season. The usual NHL entry age for a goaltender is around 23, 24. There's nothing to suggest his promotion need be expedited, accolades aside.

Patience, Grasshopper.

Does need some games though as part of his development

Almost all starting NHL goalies debuted in the NHL prior to the age of 23.
Among elite goalies, it's even earlier.

I think more of an interesting question would be: at what age do goalies graduate AHL that show similar statistics to Wolf

Saros is by far the closest comparable. 1 ahl season. Then played 21 in the NHL at 21-22, graduated full time by 23. (If my math is correct. Also believe he got in at 21 due to injury.

Calgary takes on the no goods at 7:30 tonight. Let’s see if they can do better than the big team did.

Then they plan again tomorrow, and then go up the road to Ontario for a game saturday.

Condors are nasty, filthy Carrion-eating vultures. No Good birds.

Ran out of room on this one. 3 point night for Phillips in his return to the Wrangler lineup.

Perfect response from Phillips - get sent down and light it up - not sulking just giving them reasons to bring him up again

What did they start the season at? 2-5-0?

So 17-2-1 since...

Another small guy who would just be collecting his NHL salary while eating popcorn in the press box
