It will be fun to follow the wildcard battle in the west.
The competition between Chicago, Minnesota, Colorado and Arizona will be a good one. I think that most of these teams face off head to head at least once in the remaining games as well.
I have a hunch that Colorado will be the team that takes the spot, but at this point it is anyone's game.

You've got to take out Hossa and Bolland to make it worthwhile since the whole reason they are on the team is because they are hurt.
They are still high (3rd highest in the league) but not an outlier without those two.

And here's a webpage where you can find the standings for a particular date in a past year:
http://www.shrpsports.com/nhl/stand.php
Calgary had 80 points on March 15th last year in the same amount of games, so 3 points better than Arizona at this point.

They’re a decent story I guess, but one of the best in the NHL? Not even close.

Also, let's see how it all shakes out before crowning their asses...last time I checked there is no X beside their name.

I don't hate the Coyotes. In fact, I used to like them back in the Tkachuk, Tocchet and Roenick days.
But since then, I don't know if there has been a more boring team. Just no personality or identity. They have a history of being boring to watch. I can't blame the market for not being able to find new fans. Add to that the constant chatter about ownership problems and possible relocation, and I wouldn't follow them either. I also hate that they use so much of their budget to be a dumping ground so other teams can get out of big anchor contracts or injured players. They could use that money to you know, try and build a great team.
Geographically, I love that there is a team there. The sport of hockey seems to be growing in Arizona as well. As a franchise, they are irritating.

The Coyotes have been anything but boring if you've been watching them this season. There have been a ton of interesting storylines around the team and they're playing a fast but still chippy style. And their attendance is up 5% from last year.

Amazing how healthy SJ and TB have been this season, no wonder they have had such great seasons.
Boston is doing amazingly well considering that they are middle of the pack in man-games lost.
