Yeah I don't trust 3rd party sleeved cables unless they're made by CableMod.
Consistent power is so important with the Ryzen 5xxx chips, adding a weird cable to the chain as opposed to getting a fully sleeved cable from the manufacturer or a trusted brand like CM seems like a bad idea.

LINKUP actually makes really good aftermarket cabling. I have a PCI-E 3.0 riser cable from them.

A PCIE riser is just a data cable though (minimally powered). I'm just not a fan of introducing another failure point between a PSU and the component with the short run sleeved pieces.
AMD replied to my email about them closing my RMA without providing a replacement with.. a request for a picture of my CPU and details so they can open an RMA.
Uh you already HAVE my CPU you morons.

Glad to get the 5900 sorted out recently. With the CPU, GPU, and console updates we should be good for major hits for a while.
If you can do it, the LG 48 CX is still the hands down most amazing upgrade I've gotten. Feels like poop to have to game on anything else now.
I put mine on the Ergotron HX desk mount, and absolutely love this thing. The mount gives back a good amount of desk space that you otherwise lose to the CX48's stand.
I managed to get a hold of a 5800X. Still waiting to hear back from AMD about my closed 5900X RMA, but I'm not very hopeful. I may just build with the 5800X.
I mean I'm not really doing anything where I need the other 4 cores but still...

Anyone have recommendations for a new mouse? My G502 Hero is acting up after only 6 months and I'm pretty wary at this point to buy another logitech product without a strong recommendation. The market for midrange mice is pretty huge so I'm not sure where to start.

I've been using Roccat Kone mouse for awhile and they've haven't failed in me. Ergonomics are pretty good and no switch failures, which is all I ever had with the Logitechs.

How far do you sit from that mammoth of a screen? Assuming you use it like a traditional gaming PC.
My 502 Lightspeed is bad too, extra clicks and inconsistent clicking and holding. I did try to RMA it once but their RMA requirements were onerous to say the least.
I've read about changing the switches to better quality Japanese switches so I might go down that road.
A few of the Razer mice looked good to me and I got my nephew one for Christmas and he hasn't complained, but I haven't used anything other than Logitech for a very long time.

Razer makes some good mice. Basilisk series fits my hand nicely. I use logitech for the office (the unifying receiver is the best technology ever invented in terms of mice and keyboards) and a cheap wireless g602 I got to keep in my bag, but I do prefer the Razers.

Razers can get some funky behaviors (i think there was a bad firmware between Oct-Dec 2020 most recently) but I've been buying Naga Hexes and Deathadders (for MMO and FPS/creative use respectively) for the last 15+ years and will continue to do so indefinitely.

I would think it depends on the kind of games you're playing and how serious about them you are. If you're playing something that is more relaxed and immersive like a sim, adventure, or strategy game, then I bet it's fantastic for that. For twitch shooters, a screen that big is a liability and there's a reason competitive/pro gamers tend to gravitate toward 24" displays.
I sit between 2'3" - 2'6" away from my monitor, and my Dell S3220DGF at 32" is (for me, anyway) just on the cusp of being too big to effectively play something like CS:GO. But for titles like FS2020, Valheim, CyberPunk 2077, GTA, etc., it's a fantastic size and I bet for that use case that the LG CX48 would be too.

I've got an non-traditional set up for sure. Rather than triple smaller monitors, we're running the single 48 in this rig. The monitor is on a stand so it is super easy to adjust placement or even the seat itself as desired.

I generally only use it when I'm playing a controller based game.
When I'm doing a traditional KB+M, I output to a 32" 4K monitor, because yeah - the desk isn't deep enough to let you play on KB+M without massive amounts of head tracking.
