They should look at only doing the Thursday night games at week 9 and after except for the season opener. St least by than teams know their offences and defensive schemes. There are teams that should not play in prime time slots.

He's been moody week to week his whole career, and never really got over the Superbowl fumble criticism (which really just brought his general, usual malaise into the spotlight for all to see).

Why do the Panthers run McCaffrey up the middle?

Is this reviewable? When the penalty occurred?
Jerome Boger never knows what's going on.

Panthers never use Newton's size. Thats an easy QB sneak for a first down.

Dumb play by the runner, just turn upfield there at some point, you don’t have to get all the way into the end zone.

Also, from the 2 min warning until the game clock was at 1:22, 17 real time minutes elapsed.

How do you not call a QB sneak there? Norv Turner is a clown.

Cause the ref is clueless. That was all on him. He didn't know where to spot the ball after the facemask and he let Tampa call a 2nd timeout.

So much for the Panthers' season. Not that there was much there anyway.

Maybe because the QB himself doesn't want to sneak?

He also went vegan in offseason and lost about 30 lbs.

If I was a panthers fan, I’d be absolutely livid with that play calling.

A fourth of a yard and you have the QB take a 5 yard snap with a fake to the RB?

Some of these OCs overthink the situation

But I don’t care. Go Bucs!

Have to imagine Rivera and his staff are officially on the hot seat now (if they weren't already). If they don't make the playoffs this will probably be the end of his tenure and at 0-2 with only 6 home games remaining I don't like their chances.

It's early and the opposition hasn't been world beaters, but I'm slightly optimistic about the Bucs defense for the first time in a while. Pass rush being decent and the secondary just mediocre instead of a sieve is a big step up. If Jameis didn't cost them at least 4 games a season I'd be thinking outside shot at playoffs, but alas.

https://www.oddsshark.com/nfl/stats-...-and-0-2-teams

Since 2007, 91 teams have started 0-2. Only 10 (10.9 percent) of them turned it around to make the playoffs

Some "must-win" games already in Week 2.

The Bucs weren't exactly Belichicking either. They got so lucky they didn't give the Panthers a first down via penalty by calling 2 time outs in a row.

Todd Bowles may not be a great head coach but the man can coach defense. He called a great game last night.

if it weren't for Winston, I think they could do some damage. Two great receivers, two good tight ends, at least a functional run game and an improved defense (I think the 3-4 suits guys like Vea well, the pass rush is solid and David/White is a great LB combo). If Arians can address QB and improve the OL, they could be really good next season.

I thought I saw Arians slap at a player in the head with his playcard, for taking a blocking from behind penalty. Not exactly Woody Hayes, but not ok?

I feel like that should have been a first down.

It was 4th and 2 from the TB3.

Normally that would be a 5 yard penalty but since they are on the 3 it's half the distance to the goal bringing them to the 1.5 yard line half a yard short of the first down.

Personally I feel like that should trigger an automatic first down because if it was 4th and 2 anywhere else on the field and they take that penalty it's a first down.
