Christian Sarile has pleaded guilty to 17 sexual abuse charges.

A former Calgary music teacher is facing nearly two decades in prison for the sexual abuse of 26 young girls.

Christian Sarile pleaded guilty to 17 sexual abuse charges, all against children between the ages of 12 and 16.

He admitted to using social media to lure young girls to provide child pornography photos and videos, and engage in sexual acts. Sarile also sent sexually explicit photos and videos of himself.

Well, at least they finally caught him and it seems like a decent sentence?

Hopefully they figure out how he got away with it for so long and install some checks and balances.

I don't think there should be any hope or leniency for these predators, and clearly this scumbag is a serial predator.


I'd be ok with life = life sentences for these creatures, put them on an island in the arctic and let them stay there til they die.

Sarile’s defence submits a sentence of between 12 and 14 years is appropriate, and told court his offences were committed while he was dealing with personal hardships.

Defence lawyer Yoav Niv said Sarile’s mother, father and sister all had varying health issues and at one point were in three different Calgary hospitals at the same time.

This makes me angry in what twisted world does a defense counsel think personal hardship turns a person into a sexual predator?

He used a bunch of fake social media accounts to catfish girls into sending him nudes, which he then used to blackmail them. This was in addition to abusing his power at the Stampede Band. I’m not sure what you could do to stop this.

I agree completely with you. We all have our challenges in life. His actions have nothing whatsoever to do with them.

I think people can make incredibly stupid and bad decisions, but when you systematically target underage girls for at least 8 years AND reoffend when you’re on recognises, that doesn’t give me faith it can be cured.
