Flames vs Jets makes the most sense. Two of the leagues best teams with solid young cores meet in the middle.

Mc2ndstar isn't a good enough reason to give that tire fire up north any more exposure in an event like this. They are an embarrassment to the league and should be kept hidden.....or even relegated.

I'll suggest

just for the lulz. Red versus white in the stands.

Regina couldn't sell out an outdoor game during the Memorial Cup featuring WHL teams, why would the NHL expect a sell-out with a glorified AHL team like Edmonton?

I like the idea of Flames vs. Jets "meeting in the middle" as two successful, exciting young teams with plenty of fans of both likely willing to travel from AB and MB for the game.

Really hoping we see these in action, in an Adidas cut.

Winnipeg and Calgary. Name two cities Rider fans dislike the most. That's going to be interesting.

Should have waited till after the Grey Cup was over or Early December Oct 24th could still be very warm day.

Calgary to Regina is about 7 hours

Winnipeg to Regina is about 5 to 5 1/2 hours I'm guessing? Not 100% sure though

There have been outdoor games in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, and the Winter Classic in Dallas next year will almost certainly be played in much warmer temperatures.

Wonder why they would do this in October, rather than late November/early December.

Just have red vs blue. No need for whites.

It'll be interesting to see how they are able to integrate the Blackhawks into this one.

I've got a Kari Lehtonen Thrashers jersey like that and I got a red Kent Nilsson Atlanta Flames jersey as well. Cool idea but no way Winnipeg wears Atlanta jerseys. Hopefully both teams make new jerseys (NHL wants to make $ so im sure this happens). Something unique & please don't make Ronald McDonald jerseys again.

That's perfect weather for this. If the high temperature for the day is about 15, it will be nice and cold at night to help the ice set nicely but still warm enough to sit outside for a few hours at game time.

Outdoor games on warmer days are better than ones where it's bitterly cold and snowing all game long.

Probably looking at the CFL schedule and since its that early it won't really be part of any real meaningful game.

Which team is losing a home game to “host” the winter classic?
