Neither SJ nor VGK is scary. They both suck pretty hard on the road.
The key to winning a playoff series is to win your home games, and to win one game on the road. All three of SJ, VGK, and Calgary look equally capable of winning their home dates, but Calgary looks like far-and-away the best bet of the three to win a road game.

Only thing that scares me is Fleury can be just ridiculous. Quick had a 1.55 GAA and SV% of .940 and LA still lost. Only thing I got is he has played 45 games so far and is on pace to play 65+ games (chances are he plays at least 20 of LV remaining 30 games). I am no expert,but I would think 65 to 70 games is a lot for a 34 year old goal tender.

Especially considering he played 20 PO games last year, and wasn't done until June 7. His training camp opened August 31.

I'd take that! Coyotes could use a playoffs to help spur some interest in that market. That being said, I still can't believe the race for the westen conference WC. At times, the teams in the "race" remind me of the Monty Python twit Olympics Sketch. Don't know how you lose 11 odd games in a row and still manage to be only a point out.

Vegas literally just made the finals last year and San Jose 2 years before that. If they dont scare you idk what to say. Not saying i dont think we can beat them just that id rather avoid them in round 1.

It's amazing how bad the wild card race in the western conference is

Quite a difference in your own post - being so scared you're speechless when others aren't vs. simply preferring to avoid them.

According to the numbers on sportsclubstats, the Flames would probably make the playoffs if they finished the season with 88 points. That's some kind of bad.

Would you want St. Louis, Dallas, Arizona, or Anaheim as well in round 1?

We do have the ROW on teams and that isn't calculated here. So if that is still the case near the end than it would account for a point or half a game depending on the number you are using.
|
Great work. Is it possible to add the magic numbers for the entire western conference?

Here is a breakdown of the opponents left in the Flames schedule.
The Flames play 14 more times in the pacific division, including their last five of the season.
Anaheim Ducks 3
San Jose Sharks 2
Vancouver Canucks 2
Arizona Coyotes 2
Vegas Golden Knights 2
Los Angeles Kings 2
Edmonton Oilers 1
The Flames only play against central teams three more times
Winnipeg
Minnesota
Dallas
Otherwise the Flames play 14 eastern conference teams.

Same. This is the first time all season I have had any edge of nerves, but it's matched with some real excitement!
This is the home stretch boys! Bring it home strong!!!

February is tough
4 home, 9 road
@Wash, @Car
Home to SJ
@Van, @TB, @FLA, @Pit
Home to Ari, NYI, Ana
@Ott, NYI, NJD
Only back to back is isles/devils so almost no travel
Will be great test. May be first time they face any real adversity? Potential is there. Hopefully not

That's about as close to a playoff deathwish for your team that you could get.

I added home/ road splits. Seven home-dates and seven road games in the Division, and two home- v. one road-game in the Central.

Man. Washington and Carolina, then back home for one against SJ before going to both the west and east coasts on the same trip, then home for a couple, then east again.
Bru-tal scheduling. I hope they're getting some solid rest on their breaks.
