I'm on my traditional pre-Star Wars binge right now. So far I've watched Episodes I & II and am currently on season 2 of Clone Wars (which I had forgotten how good this series was). I cannot wait for this freakin' movie to come out!
I've noticed that over the years I've softened a bit on the Prequel Troilogy, while the first two are a bit of a mess, I find I can enjoy the lore and story behind some of the clumsiness. I mean as much as the story is about the fall of Anakin, its more about the end of a whole system of government and the rise of authoritarianism, plus Ian playing Palpatine is so good, and I do really like ROTS.
The Clone Wars series really reflects this as well. This first season is fairly kid friendly, but it slides into darkness as it goes along. By the time you get to season 5, you can really see why the Republic had to die and why the Jedi had to be pretty much destroyed.
Season 2 was great because it was the bounty hunter season, and you got to see a lot of Cad Bane who was awesome.

I rewatched Revenge of the Sith, and if you watch the Clone Wars the execution of Order 66 hits a lot harder because you know the backstories of the Jedi that were killed.
When you see Ki-adi-Mundi killed by his Troopers, and you remember that he was huge in a few story lines.
Or Plo-Koon who was really close to Ashoka and saved her life more then once.
You seem Luminari Unduli in the Chancellers office in the beginning of Attack of the Clones and realize that she was executed sometime before the events of Rebels or her apprentice Barriss Offee who betrayed the Jedi in an event that lead to AShoka leaving the Jedi Order.
You saw Kit Fisto killed by Palpatine very quickly after they made him really powerful in TCW.

It's crazy, I've been having dreams about going to the movie, dreams about it being bad, dreams about meting the actors. My anticipation level is through the roof!
Going to see this on the 16th at our VIP theatre. Alcohol, cushy seats, Star Wars and best of all no screaming kids. The way a kids movie was meant to be seen.
With two weeks to go, I'm going to put down some of my predictions. These aren't spoilers at all, these are theories based on the novels that I've read leading up to this point, and some of the things I'm guessing at
Spoiler!
Kylo is sent by Snoke to kill the resistance leadership including his mother, this is his final test given to him by Snoke. He manages to kill most of the leadership, but can't kill his own mother. He decides to gain back Snoke's trust by taking Rey to see Snoke.
Kylo takes Rey in front of Snoke who attempts to push her to the dark side, he reveals Rey's backstory, she's not a Skywalker or a Solo. But she is linked to the Dark Side of the Force. Rey will say that she always knew.
Maz reveals bits about Snoke's backstory, he was always with the Dark Side but managed to fool everyone in a plot to destroy the Jedi, and it goes into how he managed to seduce Kylo with stories of his Grandfather who he claims understood why the Jedi needed to die out.
During the major battle we will see Phasma do something awesome, however she will face off against Finn and either die or flee.
Finn and Rose will sneak aboard the Supremacy to rescue Rey from Snoke. They will get within sight of her and Snoke and then their rescue will fail. We will hear the Snap Hiss of a lighsaber and see Luke who will go Jedi Master and go after Snoke.
Kylo will turn on Snoke and help Rey escape. During the battle between Snoke and Luke which is awesome, Snoke will explain to Luke why the Jedi must not be allowed to rise. Luke will turn off his lightsaber and agree with Snoke, Luke is the one that falls in this movie. Rey and Kylo flee with Finn and Rose.
On their escape ship, Kylo will smash his or the darth vader helmet and renounce the darkness.
Meanwhile Luke and Snoke will be at the head of the first Order.
Leia heart broken by the failure of the Resistance and at Luke's fall to the darkness will resign her commission as General and go into exile. Admiral Holdo (Laura Dern) will take over command of what's left of the Republic and the Resistance who are now on the run from a resurgent First Order.
Hux is killed during the battle, while Poe becomes the hero that helps what's left of the Resistance escape.
Chewie goes into exile with Leia as does C3PO. R2D2 stays.
Finn says "I have a bad feeling about this"
In the end we have a powerful new Empire and a fractured Resistance. Most of the main characters from the OT are gone except for Luke and R2D2.
Rey and Kylo are the new generation of Jedi to come. Luke and Snoke aren't Sith but they are dedicated to the idea of wiping out the Jedi because they believe that the Jedi are the cause of all of the strife in the galaxy over history.
Rey is not a Skywalker or Solo, she was born to Darkness and nearly falls during the movie, but Kylo saves her

same. Thought I'd watch them in sequence for a change including Rogue One this time ... glad to get I and II out of the way already. #### Jar Jar Binks, seriously.

Meh I got over Jar Jar a long time ago, plus his only two scenes of significance in AOTC was when he basically became the key reason why Palpatine won in the end.
Mas Ammeda - "Jeez war is coming, we need a army"
Palpatine - "Yeah I don't have the power to approve that"
MA - "Well the only way to do it is to give you kindly uncorruptable Palpatine emergency powers"
Palpatine - buttering a roll - "Nobody has the balls to do that"
MA - reading woodenly off the script - "If only Amidala was here, she'd have the balls, like two big brass ones"
Jar Jar - "Meesa got the balls"
Next scene
Jar Jar - "I move for giving the Chanceller the power to destroy the Republic"
MA and Palpatine give each other low fives .
How can you not love the fact that George knew that Jar Jar was a huge misfire and made him stupid enough to be played like that.

I could watch a feature-length film of people just shooting and beating Jar Jar while he runs through some sort of odds-stacked obstacle course or something.

years back I saw a fake trailer that meshed The Blair Witch Project with Phantom Menace. Jar Jar did the flashlight selfie scene apologizing for the movie sucking - "Meesa so scared! Meesa gunna die out here!" Been looking for that for years...

Maybe it's because I was 5 when Phantom Menace came out, but I never really had the hate on for Jar Jar that most people do.
I will agree that I and II are by far the worst movies. They have some redeeming qualities (Darth Maul), but I'd say far and away the worst and most useless part was the pod racing. I loathe that part.
With Han Solo dead where does that leave Chewbecca? So his life debt to Han passed... so why doesn’t he ditch everyone. I mean does anyone besides Han Solo even understand him? With not preventing Han’s death does he feel like he is to blame and he should return to his home world? None of the other characters seem to care about him much as we saw at the end of the last movie. Hey maybe we find out that Rey’s father is actually Chewbecca, that would be an interesting twist!
