Default Game 11: Battle of alberta - rematch

Calgary Stampeders at Edmonton Eskimos
Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium
Saturday, Sept. 9
Kickoff: 7 p.m. MDT
TV: TSN, ESPN3

Stampeders won the first part of LDC Battle of Alberta in Calgary on Monday 39-18 but I am sure it is going to be a different ballgame tonight with Eskimos playing at home.

OFFENSE:

The last 4 head-to-head games with Edmonton, Bo Levi Mitchell has thrown for 1,225 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions. Davaris Daniels played well again last game and hopefully he consistently play well the remaining season. I was impressed with the way Canadian RB Anthony Woodson played on some his touches. There is a potential that he can help the offense especially on the ratio. Stamps can also use him more rather than using Roy Finch on a double duty much. OL Shane Bergman is back in the active roster tonight.

DEFENSE:

One of the best game defense played this season. The DBs played very well and did not give Reilly a lot of look deep. They pretty much shut down Bowman and Zylstra all game. They will thave to play better tonight after Eskimos adding their top receiver from last season Walker for this game.

MLB Alex Singeton had a career-best 13 takedowns in Labour Day game's win and that earned him CFL player-of-the-week honours along with teammate Shaquille Richardson for his performance which included two interceptions and a fumble recovery. Actually before the game, Shaq were challenging the QBs to throw the ball through him. I guess he was right.

Charleston "Sackmaster" Hughes is set to be back tonight. Hughes is actually tied for 2nd spot for the most QB sack this season with 6. Not bad considering he missed a few games already. The leader in that group are both injured and both Argo players Victor Butler and Shawn Lemon with 7 a piece.

SPECIAL TEAM:

Roy Finch is becoming to be the most exciting returner in the CFL. It seems like every time he does the return, he makes things happen. Special team coverage has been playing well of late.

********************************************
Hopefully they keep n harassing Reilly again tonight and not give him a lot of looks especially with Walker back.

GO STAMPS GO!!!

When did they start playing the rematch on Saturday? I always liked the quick turnaround from labour day to the Friday game, but I guess it must've been pretty rough on the players. Go stamps go!

I believed this is the 3rd year now. I like that Friday game too but I am okay with the Saturday also. I think the reason was to prevent injuries or something.

This has not been a good weekend for starting QB's as Lulay, Glenn, and now Trevor Harris have gone down with injuries. I definitely want the Stamps to win, but just as important is continued good health for Bo Levi Mitchell.

Well that doesnt look good.

Also i think thats a fumble as it doesnt look like he ever touched the ground while getting bent like a pretzel.

That's sucks. Looks like Davaris Daniels is hurt. Looks like he got his knee twisted. Hope it is not an injury.

Yes, high-snapped by Eskimos. Stamps will have to score here.

Mitchell has not been good at all this year. Their record shows how good of team this is when the QB has been off since game 1.

Too high by Mitchell. Way too far McDaniel to catch.

Was it his throwing hand that was bugging him, or shoulder?

That is just hyperbole. He has been better some times more than others, but he hasn't been bad all season. He does look like he is hurting tonight thoug,no question.

Teams just dont have the record Calgary does if they are getting "bad" QB play.
Not how the game works at all.
