I don't see this as a good reason for the Flames getting rid of him.

Seiloff - a hard hitting blueliner - makes a big hit and someone is criticizing it?

Give me a break

Poor Sieloff. Gonna be hard to find a fit after this. Can only imagine the locker room animosity right now

You're right killer, throw big hits at a scrimmage game during training camp.

Come on man. That is ridiculous to be going out and creaming a guy, a teammate with a dirty hit like that in a scrimmage. Sieloff is clearly an idiot if he thinks plays like that make him an asset to the Senators.

Bobby Ryan.

Neil and Brassard went after him as well later.

Wonder if this ends MacArthur's career

Really stupid hit, he is going to be cut.

Guess it just didn't find the hit dirty... Maybe just caught him off guard?

For me, it doesn't matter wether the hit was dirty or not. Why on earth would you throw that kind of hit in a scrimmage against one of your own team mates? Stupid and brainless from Sieloff, if I was Dorion I'd have released him straight away.

I know that Sieloff was just trying to make an impression on his new team but you also have to use your brain. You're in a scrimmage against your teammates, maybe take it a little easier in the physical department?

Boy this is a tough one.
To make the show or even make an impression Sieloff has to play his game - and this is his game. He isn't going to impress anyone with his puck moving abilities or stuff like that. But this also seems like a poor decision.
Feel bad for everyone involved in this. Just a cruddy situation.

Possibly ended 2 careers with one hit there.

If he simply body-presses him into the boards, he makes the positive impression without hitting a veteran... in the head... in practice.

Wow. Im impressed with Bobby Ryan. Good on him to throw down and show some passion towards his teammates. Who said this guy wasn't intense?

I'm assuming he's talking about Baertschi?

Tim Harcoff @TimHarcoff

According to Kelly Hrudey, Sieloff has a history of this in training camps. Calgary mngt warned the other players when he was there.
