Sam Bennett looked like Crosby-lite all game and honestly was more noticable than McDavid outside of the fact that Edmonton spent the whole game on the power play for ticky tack calls.
And you come in saying Bennett looks like he's coasting.
That's why you're taking heat. Bennett could have had a six point night with better luck.
That's good to hear. It wasn't even a serious comment, just a simple observation. Were there any other standouts (good or bad)?
Any Oiler fan coming here desperate to gloat about anything is doing so with the motivation that we absolutely owned them for almost a decade. There was no "battle" of Alberta. It was the yearly allocation of free points of Alberta.

Kulak-Stone look like a perfect pair. The chemistry is there and the skillsets are complimentary. Kulak's little play on the Shinkaruk goal had some ~2010 Giordano sneakiness to it.
Bartkowski and Wotherspoon were sub par.
Healey and Andersson were pretty invisible - might be a good thing. Andersson did nearly score a goal off a rush created by a Bennett neutral zone pass but then he didn't.
Lack was meh.
Rittich had no chance on either goal but wasn't really tested otherwise.
Poirier, Foo, Klimchuk, Lazar were all overwhelmingly meh.
Shinkaruk had some moments. The goal was a fluke but he nearly scored a couple times prior.
Hrivik had a few moments. A name to keep an eye on. Probably the guy I noticed the most withot looking for him.

More or less spot on. I would argue that Lomberg proved that he is a serviceable penalty killer (lord knows he got to prove that).
I agree that Lazar needs to prove more. He had a difficult time controlling to puck.
Bartoeski was not very good for the majority of the game, he was responsible for several odd man rushes.
Kulak should be a Flame, he was in control. He could stand to trim a few of his penalties but at the same time they called every little thing.
All in all, this side made off like bandits. 11 penalties, and only 2 legitimate Flames vets and it was only 5-2.

Reason: Grammar!!!
Well done, CP mgmt. Clamping down on the trollsters early.
Dude was only here to get his little Oiler rocks off. As much as it can be entertaining, it's also pretty childish and pompous in exhibition season. Pretty sure Flames fans always had the sense to wait until the games mattered, and even then it's not usually the other team's board. Some Oilers fans are very small people.
Bennett stood out in a good way. Made 2 specific plays where the receiver of his passes couldn't bury the easy goals.
That was the good....
Eddie Lack was horrible...........his rebound control was atrocious and I didn't see anything that would give me confidence in him being our back up.
Lazar is still a mystery to me. By that, I mean that I still don't see how this guy is even a good 4th liner let alone worth a 2nd round pick. He just does nothing well.
Poirier, Shinkaruk, and Klimchuk all had flashes of decent play.
Foo was invisible.
Andersen made some noticeable mistakes.
Wotherspoon will not make the team.
That is all off the top of my head.

Was at the game. Can confirm that, despite oilers fan behaviour to the contrary, no stanley cups were awarded tonight.
I'm going to have to read up on the face off penalty. Got called on flames, but then players were thrown out of circle so clearly I didn't get the rule.
Was sitting with my oilers buddy. By the end, we were laughing about the penalties and had to make up reasons. 2 minutes because we haven't called one on the flames for 5 minutes. 2 minutes for #93 because he hasn't had a penalty yet." If those are the new slashing rules then fine, but there is no way it was so one sided.
As oilers fan83 says, if you like the greasers, better get your parade spot early. And that's all you need to know about the preseason.
