Deep friend Doritos with bacon and beer batter could be awesome.

The only reason I went to the Stampede last year was to have some deep fried pickles.
It was worth it.

There available at like 100 bars around the city.

Anyone else disappointed with the Roundup lineup this year? And $90 bucks too?

I don't frequent bars very often anymore.

Big T's and Bookers have fried pickles as well.

I'm not impressed with the new foods, except maybe the tacos. Corn dogs are perfect carnival food in my opinion, and even bacon can't improve them.

Did they hire Paula Deen to do all the midway food this year?

I'll second, third or 44th that rib competition suggestion. I might actually break down and go to the Stampede, just for that.

Eau Claire puts on a good BBQ competition ever year. It would be amazing to incorporate one with Stampede week too. I have a family member that partakes in the eau claire one each year, and it's really been growing.

Really? I had no idea. Do you know when it is this year? I'll be dragging the whole family to that, lol.

My brother and I went down last year. It was kind of busy and it's not like you could taste all the competitors' food, but there was some cool live music and the BBQ you COULD buy was delicious!

Of course, instead of lining up for Big T's you could just go to Big T's. (Not sure about the other two public vendors).

There was a Rib-Fest going on when I was in Toronto last July that I would've like to go to, but we were limited to public transportation and it was out in the boonies somewhere.
