Woooooooo

Flames played their same low event 5v5 style from the Jets series and were perfect on special teams, which is a good recipe for success come playoff time.

Stars had 3 high danger chances at all strengths and Flames kept them to the outside all game.

This is a style that is effective in the playoffs and hopefully they can keep it up.

I can't believe the Flames are 4-1 in a postseason.

I didn't see much from the Stars in this one. Other than one bad shift that ended in 2 fluky goals, they didn't generate a whole lot of dangerous chances.

The Flames can play a lot better than what we saw in the second and third, and unless Dallas plays significantly better, it will be a short series

F yes! Was having a heart attack there at the end. Dube was amazing. Mini Jagr on his second goal.

I've come to the point where I don't expect anything from Gaudreau and Monahan 5 on 5 but I've been surprised how quiet Lindholm has been since the restart.

Great shutdown work by the team in the last couple of minutes before the Gio penalty. They played great when it counted the most. But yeah, finally the knots in the stomach are relaxing.

Dube and that third line carried us tonight, we badly need the first line to show up

Forbort has been such a good pickup.

I barely notice Gustafsson at even strength, which I think is good given his skillset and resulting deficiencies.

Their gonna need both for sure but it is encouraging they’ve won four of five games without great play from either
And the long term implications are interesting
Perhaps we are seeing, in real time, this teams best players shift

Gaudreau and Monahan especially have down fine defending but they need to start tilting the ice in their favour if they don't want to get destroyed in shot metrics for the rest of the series.
Perfect example of why things aren't happening was the third period. Johnny gets puck in corner, Monahan cruising through the slot unchecked and Johnny shoots from the goal line. Brutal play by one party.

As some posters have already said, fantastically solid defensive game against a team with some players who historically have been very good against us.

Team didn't get too rattled after those two quick goals against. Bodes well for the rest of the series.

Bring on game 2. Go Flames Go!
