I am not buying it. This comes out now suddenly after how many years? This sounds like a guy who is bitter he didn't make the show. Even more disturbing is how many people are calling for Peters head in this thread, wtf ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Bitter people make false accusations all the time, let's see if this goes anywhere before bringing out the pitchforks.
I agree the calls for heads to roll over a couple tweets are premature.
However, there are many reasons why he waited or couldn't be bothered to make these accusations. Maybe this is relatable to Me Too in that victims feel empowered to finally speak out when others start coming forward.
The entire Babcock fiasco could lead to a serious culture change in hockey.

If it's true, he should go. It may give Treliving a way out without having to fire his coach for performance reasons too, though it doesn't look good to specifically target and hire a guy like that without even interviewing other available candidates. All depends on what comes out after the initial accusation.

I’m assuming he’s referring to the 2009/10 season, when he played 48 games for Rockford under Peters. Hockeydb shows him scoring 11 goals in those 48 games; he also recorded 5 goals in 13 games for the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye that year.
Obviously we need more details here. Where was it said? Who else was around to hear it? What does Peters have to say? If he said it he should be canned but he shouldn't be fired just because someone says something unless it is proven.
I said let's see where it goes. Again, why now? Why has this not come out before? Notice how he writes its about the coaches who he thinks didn't give him his fair shake. The whole tweet sounds like a bitter child. Kind of like how Commodore sounds.
Bizzare post. Commodore should be bitter according to his story and so should Aliu if this is true. I fail to see what he has to gain from making this up.

I’m not coming with a pitch fork going after Peters. Akim has been through some %#^* in his days as a hockey player, and given that he spoke out against hazing - he does have some respect from me. This is a situation where we need more information to be sure, and hell it may end up just being a he said/he said situation.
If there’s truth to it, I’m also not even saying fire Peters. People make mistakes and no one is perfect, and more importantly people grow with time. You do have to make amends for your mistakes though.

He was a 50 year old newfy that listened to country. He was a miserable old bastard. But I don’t think a single person on that crew thought he was legitimately racist, homophobic or even hateful.

Except he was all those things. That's the problem with racism.
And I've been in construction my whole career, so I know exactly what you are talking about, context and all.

Well now it will be in the back of everybody's minds that we have a racist coach. I really don't expect that to last long...
This is a bad position for Peters. If he did do it and does the right thing and admits it his career may be over. If he didn't then some will always be cynical and there will be a cloud over him.
