LF: Moving Boxes

Anyone have any moving boxes they need to unload?

Moving on Wednesday I’ll have 15 ish available by the weekend.

I already offloaded most of mine from my move earlier in the year, but I'd highly recommend consistent sized boxes as much as possible. I also don't recommend boxes that are significantly over weight. You and/or your movers will appreciate it and it will speed things up significantly too.

IMO, knowing what I know now, paying $100-150 ish in boxes and quality tape really helps to speed up a move and unpacking after a move. It'll also potentially save you grief with a mover. Easy to stack and less likely for a weak box to be crushed and damaged your stuff.


I acquired ones similar to these that I felt were reasonably priced and the size was perfect for a bunch of things without being too heavy.

A buck a box for a 1 foot cube. Easy to move/stack and not overload to being too heavy for a variety of things. The consistent shape is also really easy to work with when stacking in a van etc. vs irregular shapes.

I still use some of these in my home for random storage.

Uhaul has some pretty good options too for a similar price and they have handle holes too.

Great advice, I bought a package of those as well ( moving in August ).

I also brought home about 60 boxes from My liquor store, the boxes that 4lt boxes of wine come in are great for moving as well. They measure about the same volume but are rectangular, 16w x 9d x 11t and can hold decent weight and hard to overpack weight wise because of size.

Any larger liquor store like Superstore would probably empty at least 20 a day. Just limit the packing with only 2-4 sizes of boxes and you are golden for easy packing in a cube van.

This guy has good quality new and used boxes cheap along with almost anything else you need. He even offers to buy back new boxes, not sure how much he pays though.

We’ve been doing grocery delivery with spud.ca so have accumulated a nice set with handles, but will need some more so I’ll be in the market for a van load of boxes first week of august...

Will have tons of boxes free to a good home by Aug 10 or so...
